COVER FIGHT HELP
This is the cover fight documentation. This documentation will take the
form of a question and answer format.
-
What is Cover Fight?
-
Cover Fight is a spin off of Song Fight. Kind of like an advanced version
of Song Fight for veterans only. The concept is for previous/current Song
Fight competitors to enter a random drawing for another competitor and
cover one of their songs.
-
How do I vote?
-
If you are familiar with Song Fight you can vote in a similar fashion by
picking the cover that you want to vote for and selecting the corresponding
radio button under the Best Cover column.
-
For more advanced voters you can also select good or bad to specify your
individual tastes on a particular song.
-
What is partial voting?
-
Partial voting is a method of voting progressively. If you have only listened
to a few songs and you wanted to vote on just those songs you could make
your qualitative selection for an individual song and partially vote on
it. Then you may partially vote on other songs at your convenience.
-
Can I partially vote more than once?
-
No you may only partially vote on each song once.
-
Yes you can partially vote on as many songs as there are but only on each
song once.
-
What happens if I want to vote on just the best song?
-
Than select the best cover and hit the vote button at the bottom of the
list. If you make no other selection, the Cover Fight voting system will
assume that you didn't listen to any of the songs.
-
Can I go back and change my vote?
-
No, once you have made a selection and hit a vote button your selection
will be counted unalterably.
-
Can I mix partial voting with regular voting?
-
Yes, but only by partially voting first. You cannot partially vote after
you have voted regularly.
-
Why?
-
Because partial voting is only a small part of regular voting. If you take
all of the partial votes together along with the Best Cover vote you will
have a regular vote.
-
Why can't I vote?
-
The cover submission period might not have ended yet. Until this period
ends no voting will take place.
-
You could have already voted, and once you vote cannot change it.
-
The cover submission period has ended and I haven't voted yet but the system
still won't allow me to vote, why?
-
There is a small period of time between the end of the submission period
and the actual voting period for some administrative tasks, try back later.
-
The voting period could have ended for the cover.
-
Can I view the results?
-
Yes, after the voting period has ended, there are automatically generated
results.
-
What do the results mean?
-
There are two displayed results. The first is a metric similar to Song
Fight where the entrant with the most Best Cover votes gets named. This
is signified by having the entrants name in bold and the winner title after
the bands name. The second metric is a new scheme based on the partial
voting results combined with the Best Cover vote.
-
How will my vote get counted if I only partially vote?
-
Your partial vote will not count to the Best Cover count vote. But it will
count for the combined metric, if you at least voted partially on one song,
the system will count that you haven't listened to any songs that you haven't
partially voted on.
-
What is the voting metric used for the combined method?
-
There is an assigned metric for each vote type that gets applied to each
entrant. Then the combined metric count is avgeraged out over all of the
voting stock. This result is displayed in the result graph.
