phpBB's edit permissions take some getting used to, though I think the defaults do allow you to delete posts even if they've been replied to, as long as you were logged in when you made the original post. I know on my forum I can delete threads at any time, but then again I'm also an admin so I dunn...

Hey JB, when you undid the avatar option mod did you also remove the anti-spam mod? It doesn't look like it's actually active right now. (If it were there'd be a few

s on the message post pages. And those <>s woul...

phpBB lets you enable/disable guest posting on a per-forum basis, and also has pretty good post rate limiting. One of the patches JB installed also prevents spambots from posting (even if they're registered), and since the forum isn't shared with the rest of Dumbrella anymore it's unlikely that any...

Install ntp, if you have that kind of access.

If it's already installed, there are several good public NTP servers available. time.apple.com is good, even if you're not using an Apple product (they have no way of telling anyway).

Right now I'm listening to the monotonous hum of my air conditioner, accompanied by children playing in the streets and the occasional honking car.

I also have "You Keep Me Awake (Reprise)" from the Vapor Trails soundtrack stuck in my head.

Get JB to install this: http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/classicz ... atures.txt

Then someone needs to also edit the page templates to support it.

Cheap/good weighted keyboards

Right now I'm shopping around for a MIDI controller keyboard, and I thought others might find this useful. A couple years ago at SFWW I had the opportunity to play with Spud's Casio PS-20, which was amazingly good and turned me on to the fact that Casio actually makes some <a href="http://casio...

phpBB's template system is kinda retarded. There's no logo configuration; that's just hardcoded into the template.

phpBB stuffs, and things

I've made a few anti-spammer mods to phpBB which might be helpful.

Allow guest posting while disabling spambots:

Prevent spammers from spamming the member list:
