I figured Marcus would've said something by now, but it should probably be mentioned that Theophilus Monk will also be playing this show!

It's official. The show is on!

Sunday, April 6th
Brooklyn Nights
122 S. Monroe
Spokane, WA 99201
(509) 835-4177

Load in is between 5-5:30, we will promote that the show will start at 7 and start closer to 7:30 figuring that everything will wrap up by 10:30ish. There are a couple of parking lots just across the street from the venue. Parking can range from easy to tricky depending on if there is a big event going on downtown. If you can find a meter, you won't have to pay for parking because it's the weekend.

Please continue to let me know if you will be there in this thread, and we'll get some form of a lineup in place.

ROCK!

I am promoting this show heavier than I have ever promoted any show I have done to date.

Some nice flyers were printed up, and I walked around the downtown area posting them at businesses that would allow me to do so. I have hand flyers that I will be handing out at shows over the next week or so. I should also be appearing on a local radio show called Battle Star Eclectica to talk about the SongFight show as well as another show with Levi Weaver I have coming up on April 15th. There is also talk of having me appearing on a local radio news program in my building to talk about the show.

We will have our own P.A. We will have the Half Racks gear to work with as well. That means we'll be providing a drum set, bass amp and guitar amp at the very least. I have microphones and stands, but the mics aren't anything special. If someone wants to bring mics, more power to them. I'm also bringing a Casio keyboard that has a good piano sound.

It would be nice if someone could bring a bass guitar if they aren't already planning on it. I have a few bass guitars, but none of them are working very well at the moment. I do have a good acoustic guitar, and a decent electric 'though.

ROCK!

April 15 is a week after the show, Gleen.

I will be bringing two bass guitars, but neither of them is standard. One is fretless, and the other is an 8-string bass. But if you are adventurous, both are fun.

I could have worded that better.

On top of the SongFight show on April 6th, I have a gig coming up on April 15th with Levi Weaver at the Emperyan Coffee House. When I am on the radio show, I will have the opportunity to discuss both gigs.

p++ will be traveling with a Fender Precision Bass Special (P&J active pickups) and a Grestch short-scale bass. Between # & p++, I think we've got the bases covered.

Okay, so here are the bands that should be playing at the Spokane show (in alphabetical order):

Half Racks
Octothorpe
Primitive Screwheads
Sockpuppet
Theophilus Monk

If I am forgetting anyone, let me know. If you have a preference on when you want to play? Let me know.

We basically have 3 hours of show time starting around 7:30 and we need to be done at 10:30. If this is everyone, I would think that 25 to 30 minute sets would not be unreasonable.

ROCK!

HEY DAVE! has been added to the roster for the Spokane show. They will play a short set including their one songfight song, and a couple of songfight covers.

Spud has got it right. That was a fun show, and it was very high energy.

I recorded audio of the show on my laptop, but the Half Racks set turned out weird. The recording skips, and I think that's because it was overmodulating and I didn't notice in time. Oh well.

I'm going to post them in the order of appearance, so here was the opening set by HEY DAVE!

1 - Intro
2 - Run Free (Frankie Big Face Cover)
3 - That's What She Said
4 - Gonna Be Your Man (Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff Cover)
5 - I Don't Want to be Your Friend (Merisan Cover)
6 - Alisha (Add Cover)

Admittedly there are some very sour notes in there, but this was much better than the Moscow set.

I think Seattle was my best one. But I don't have recordings to prove it. Sigh.
