Whatever happened to Brother Machine?

Post by zmoney »

Hey, longtime listener, first time caller.

Whatever happened to Brother Machine? Those were songs I enjoyed. I remember those early days of Song Fight (only 1 fight per week, no color codes) and the songs I enjoyed. But what happened to that guy? I would listen to his music. I would hear it again.

Does anyone else remember the Machine?

I'm sure he's just been busy.

I was hoping he would make an appearance for the Man Speaking German fight.

I believe Brother Machine has gone to recording school in England, and is busy learning how to be a recording engineer.

Ooooooh, grampa tell us a story, about the early days of songfight! Only 1 fight per week? Preposterous! No color coding? Ridiculous! I bet it was a magical time, back 18 months ago, during those early days.

Maybe a little less sarcasm there, buddy. Only trying to find some lost music.

But now that you mention it, yeah, I remember those earlier days through distant lenses.

18 months aint shit in the grand scheme of things, but its enough. It was long enough for me to lose track of the guy.

but whatever.

A more pertinent question (though thanks for the info, JB) would be, "Whatever happened to Brother Machine's website?" It had a bunch of great non-Songfight songs, but they're all gone now.

If Songfight was like 2 years old, then the time you are referring to would be the early days. But songfight is coming up on 5 years old.

In the words of the Hoblitesque Mitch Hedberg, "One time a guy handed me a picture of himself, and he said, "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." EVERY picture of you is of when you were younger. Here's a picture of me when I am older. You son of a bitch, how'd you pull that off? Let me see that camera..."

whats funny is that I've seen Mtich Hedberg perform Live at the Improve in Tampa. He's awesome. He poured my date a drink on stage after last call.

Brother Machine was also from Austin too right? If I could remember his real name I'd pm it to you and you could stalk, I mean hunt...er... look him up. Unfortunately, I cannot. I too miss his good music.

Mouth Reliant still exists too! I'm frickin' seriously tired of not being constantly praised about everything.
