Song Fight Live 2014 Musican Exchange

Post by fluffy »

I am willing to play the following for others (with my usual disclaimer of mediocrity):
  • Keyboard
  • Drums
  • Cello
  • Violin (I am especially bad at this)
  • Backing vocals
For my acoustic set I am seeking people who can perform the following functions:
  • Violin
  • Viola (to be supplied by someone else)
  • Backing vocals
  • Keyboard/piano (if available for acoustic sets)

I'm happy to play keyboards for anyone who needs them. That's including but not limited to pianos, organs, and synthesizer tones.

I can also play a variety of other instruments (I've stood in for bands in previous Song Fight Live events on acoustic guitar, bass, harmonica, and mandolin), but keys are what I'm good at. Let me know if you need a keyboardist!

I will be in your band if you want:

* Keyboard
* Drums (I haven't played in a long long time but I can probably still keep a beat and it would be fun)
* Sangin

A couple of songs have specific stuff, and I'll already be making sheet music for the cello part.

I'm finally starting to put together my setlist and it occurs to me that it would be nice to have a woodwind play on a couple songs for what are typically little synth solos. Anybody interested? Frank don't you play saxophone?

ALSO I haven't told him yet but I intend to make JB sing a bunch of harmony parts with me but it would be FUCKING COOL to have a third voice. These are pretty tight almost barbershop quartet style harmonies so you've got to be pretty solid or it won't work. For instance, here's one of the songs:

Ooh. I'd love to give that a shot, FB, but I don't know if I have the chops. If you don't get any better takers though, I could try to practice a part and audition it for you during the day Friday. I won't take offense if you say "No thanks". Too bad Erin can't make it or she would be all over that. :/

Yeah. Cool song FB. I might be able to sing bass if you want something like that in it. Like Lunkhead said - I could try to practice a part and audition it for you during the day Friday. I won't take offense if you say "No thanks".

Oh...and I can offer to play rhythm guitar or bass, or do backing vocals (either bass, or falsetto Beach Boys "ooohhs" are my favourites) if anyone wants me.

Intentionally Left Bank could use:
- a lead guitarist
- a bass player

We sometimes play in odd meters.

Also, I'm available to play guitar or bass.
And, Infamous Lefty (other half of Intentionally Left Bank) is an awesome drummer said he's up to play for others (or cajon).

Can anybody play a dirty blues/punk harmonica in the key of E? (where is Rabid Garfunkel when i need him?)

Looks like I'll possibly need someone to do drums for me! Any takers?

Most of my stuff is straightforward but a couple of songs have some places where there's some accents that need to be just right. I can send a set list to anyone who's interested in taking it on.

I've got more than I can handle already just trying to practice my own set plus drums for Manhattan Glutton. But, if you can't get anybody else, I could try to just sit in. Might be enough for me to just listen to the songs a few times beforehand to get a feel for the accents, but, I can't really make any guarantees.

I'd prefer someone who can spend the time to learn my songs - most of them are straightforward but there's a couple of cues in a couple of songs that really need to be hit just right.

Any other drummers coming? Or at least people willing to drum? Both Manhattan Glutton and BBABM have done well for me in prior SFLives so if either of you two are willing, let me know!

I unfortunately have zero expertise on the drums. I can play virtually anything else you throw at me, and I still have some mental bandwidth to spare, plus I could use the karma, so let me know if you need a random bandmate. Keyboards are my specialty, but I'm good for harmonicas (I'm bringing a full set), guitar, bass, mandolin, backing vocals, and pretty much anything you can think of.
