Re: Leave a message after the beep.
Not really apologizing so much as acknowledging the difference. Actually, I fully intend to keep making songs for these fights (as I find the time) because it is fun and I like reading what you guys write about them. Of course, I wouldn't mind a few reviews of my mashup work to try and make that better, too (shameless self plug). Maybe I will post a few more of them over time. Anyway, thanks for reading!fluffy wrote:Never apologize for doing things differently.

He feels we are mollycoddling you and is just reminding you (and everyone else) that this is Song FIGHT and not Song LOVE.
One of the essential things you need to survive here is some layers of thick skin. If you don't, there's a deep pit for those who can't hang. And trust me, you won't be lonely down there.

Re: Leave a message after the beep.
Gentlemen,
The longer I am here, the more I discover. For instance, I didn't know this site had been here for so long. And with such a diverse group of regulars, I can't just walk in and expect to be accepted, nor am I in a position to begin talking as though I know what is going on, because I don't. I didn't think asking for advice and acknowledging differences in musical inspiration/creation would be considered mollycoddling, but now I know.
A person in my day job's line of work must also have a very thick skin. Of that, I am not in short supply. I'm also sure there's no need to have a game face on 24/7, either. I thought the songs were the fight and the forums were the community, but now I know.
So see? An old dog can be taught new tricks. As always, thank you for the subtle (and sometimes obscure) reminders that maybe I got in over my head.
JB, I hope you had a nice time in Jamaica

You didn't get in over your head. You're doing fine. Keep it up. Keep making music.
