I view the Sex Pistols as a (mostly) positive influence on society, but a less positive influence on music itself. That said, "God Save the Queen".

They define the genre.
Tough to pick a favorite. God Save the Queen is a Good pick.
I never cared about them before Megadeth covered Anarchy in the UK, but Never Mind the Bullocks is amazing! For me it's all about Johnny Rotten. The rest of the band is fine as long as they keep it tight and keep tempo.

My favorite old school punk band is Fear, but I do love the Sex Pistols.
I will do some more listening, and pick one.
Phillipso, Older Brothers, Semolina Pilchards, Zipline , Thank Glennny for the Frisbee, The Odoriferous Valley, The Worldly Self Assurance, Berkeley Social Scene, Very Gentle Knives, Daddy Bop Swing Set, GUNS, The Kraken Lives, Cavedwellers

Holiday in the Sun used to be a favourite cover version for my old band when I was a teenager.

I don't think much of the Pistols, to be honest. Take Lydon out of the mix and it's just a barely adequate metal band underneath. I guess 'Submission' (though the words are dreadful) or 'Seventeen'...

P.I.L. were a far more influential band for me ...
