Well, I just voted today. It feels weird to get it out of the way so early. Anyone else already cast their ballot?

I've decided to wait and vote on election day. This is my first time voting, so I'd like to get the full, chaotic experience.

Do you have a job that will let you have the day off, in case the lines get out of hand? If you don't, I'd strongly recommend you rethink your plan, because frankly, if you've got other choices, it's not worth it to wait in line.

I play poker.

So, yes.

Really, for my first ballot, I'd like to actually pull the lever. I agree, however, that someone like my girlfriend (normal job, has voted before) should vote early.

In my #%#$ years of voting I have never ever once pulled any sort of lever.

But I guaran-frikkin-tee you that if they had an honest-to-god Dr. Frankenstein-screaming-"it's alive"-style bull switch attached to the voting machine everyone would want to vote.

You're in Texas, right? The early voting locations use the same machines that people will use on the 4th, so actually pulling the (metaphorical) lever isn't really an issue. Still, since I'm pretty sure you won't get discouraged and leave, so power to you.

THE BITCH MADE IT UP

Image

Basically, she said a 6'4" black guy mugged her, saw a McCain/Palin sticker on her car, then decided to carve a 'B' on her face.

I was initially concerned, but discussion on other boards and the far-out story had me skeptical. No swelling? No red/yellow bruising, just dark purple? No broken capillaries in her eyes? A 5-inch knife carved that? Backwards? That neatly, with such uniform (lack of) depth? The ATM camera didn't catch anything? No witnesses on that main city street? Refused medical attention? Didn't call police until an hour or so later? Continued to make posts on her blog throughout the timeline of the incident?

By this morning, I was convinced that she was lying, but didn't expect such sweet satisfaction so quickly. Fuck you, you race-baiting bitch. Fuck I hate that she's from my state. God damned embarrassment to the whole fucking country.

I voted yesterday here in Orange County California. I have done early voting in the past as well. Previous excursions have put me in line behind maybe one other person, this time I had a 20 minute wait. Other than that, it all went smoothly.

This guy at work was trying to tell me that my taxes are going to go up when Obama is President, because the Bush tax cuts are going to expire, and Obama and congress won't renew them.

And I was like...yeah...then there will be a new tax bill?

And he was like...just wait until February...your taxes are going to go up.

If I'm lucky, I might make $25K NEXT YEAR. This year it will certainly be much less. Probably under $10K?

I'm pretty sure this guy is completely retarded.

On the other hand, I didn't have any direct evidence to refute what he was saying.

That brings me to my question: Where do I find it?

You can find the answers to all of these questions all over the internet, but most likely they'll just make you ask new ones. (go to the candidate's websites... Google, and finance sites)

I have posted a few easy-to-read graphs in this very thread.

I went ahead and voted Friday. I waited about an hour, and used a fancy touchscreen.

I dressed up as Obama for Halloween, and I got BOOED at a costume contest (pics possibly forthcoming, it was certainly offensive). Now, I've played in some terrible, awful, completely shitty bands that couldn't get through a whole song, but I've never been booed. I wish I had a camera on each one of those racist fucks Tuesday night, and cups under their eyes, so that I might collect their sweet, sweet tears and drink them.
