Hey Niveous, the high hat clutch is the part that holds the top high hat cymbal to the stand so it can go up and down.
Those DW stands are fatter than most others, so you will want to check to see if the one you have fits asap.
Ken
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!
i would just like to remind everyone that Ken eats kittens - blue lang
I won't be able to check until the morning. If it's not the right size, there are enough Guitar Centers around that we can probably get what we need without too much hassle.
re schedule: Could I go on a bit later, like 9 or 9:30? I have a friend who wants to come but 8 might be too early for him.
re clutch: If it's the kit from the show a few years ago I'm like 99% positive it just has a standard narrow clutch. Personally I don't get why Sidewalk would have a hat stand with a nonstandard clutch but I'm guessing the kit is just something someone happened to have lying around or got off Craigslist for cheap or something, and like beggars can't be choosers or whatever.

And yeah change is inevitable. It's Song Fight, not Song Excellent Planning.
And with those words, the show changes again. One half of Kenka can't make it to the show due to an unexpected emergency. The other half can't do it alone, so they are dropping out of the show. That 30 minutes will probably just get absorbed by everyone (songs running long, set-ups, etc.)
Okay I have COMPLETELY brainfarted on practice space stuff. For some reason I got the idea that Song Fight had a booking for one of the studios at Rivington for the whole day and that someone would be providing instruments, but I have no idea where that came from. I would like to practice with Spud and Paul (my drummer friend) but neither Spud nor I have our respective instruments with us.
Who's going to be at Rivington and are there any instruments we can borrow? Does Rivington itself have any instruments we can borrow? (I'm not seeing anything about that on their site so I'm guessing 'no') Or I guess there's always doing the "guitar center rental" (buy an instrument and then return it later in the day) but I really really hate doing that.
Niveous, did you ever find out about a group rate at Rivington?
ETA: also turns out Rivington doesn't provide any guitar cables or straps or drum sticks. So anyone who was planning on practicing there should be aware of that.

Two hi hat cymbals
1 ride cymbal (bigger, heavier)
1 crash (smaller, lighter)

Since I was a total recluse yesterday to recharge both myself and my devices, I believe I need to make myself be pumped for such a thing, also it's kind of on the way to the studio from where I'm staying at Brklyn/Bushwick, where I intend to meet fluffy and whomever else is there.
