Maron

I just watched all four seasons of this show. WOW! It started off as a funny, whacky sitcom of the "loser comedian asshole's hijinks" variety. But it took a major and unexpected turn with the ending of season 3 and all of season 4 into something I didn't expect while still being just as funny. I wish he'd have kept the show going but I also see how ending it where they did really fits the tone of the last season. I've never listened to "WTF" or watched his standup but I was really impressed with this show.

The first three seasons are on Netflix (in the US at least) and some of season 4 is on IFC, but most of season 4 isn't freely accessible...

I've never watched the series, but I've watched plenty of his youtube clips from the series and other comedy bits. One youtube show I watch regularly is the Majority Report. The host is Sam Seder (the voice of Hugo the health inspector on Bob's Burgers). Marc Maron is friends with Seder and I believe they had a short lived political comedy show on Air America at one point. They still call in each others shows from time to time. They sound like they are serious or mad, but I'm sure they are unscripted bits and generally very entertaining. ;)

Sam Seder has a guest appearance on Maron, and they go into their history a little bit, in a loosely fictionalized way. It's pretty funny.

I just found out about and subscribed to Norm MacDonad's podcast on youtube last week. I forgot how dry and funny he is. As I was watching one with David Spade as his guest, I saw Marc Maron on the side bar. The podcasts are an hour long, so I marked it for later (watched today). Maron is quite different when being interviewed compared to being the host. Other than the long lame intro Norm did (which naturally made ME laugh), the interview was great. Norm got him talking about his breakdown and how he broke free from it. Very interesting.
