I woke up to some major news about my employer this morning.

Anybody want to get SiriusXM content streamed to an app on their phone like Pandora? Would anybody want SiriusXM if it were free and ad-supported...?

Sirius just cancelled their Yacht Rock station, which was a bummer.

That's really weird. I guess they only offer that station (and probably others) seasonally. Maybe people don't want Yacht Rock enough outside of summer time?

I imagine they try different stations and see if they pick up enough steam to keep. Maybe there aren't enough folks interested in listening to Yacht Rock specifically via satellite? I just switched to a yacht rock station on Amazon music instead.

The blog post is them saying they brought it BACK for the summer. So seems to me like they don't think enough of their customers listen to it year round to justify running it year round, but, they think enough of their customers listen to it in the summer to justify running it in the summer. I bet they bring it back again next summer. But you may be in the fall/winter/spring Yacht Rock loving minority. Unlike with Amazon or Pandora etc. Sirius has some kind of channel limits, right? Like, subscription levels are tied to channel packages, and their UI is all about channels and scanning through them. So they may feel they need to be more selective with what they use their channels for, and have some channels that they program differently at different times?

I misread this title as $3.58 and I thought, "jeeze, Pandora's worth more than that, surely?"

Ha. Yes. We are worth apparently $5.45 more than that. Per share anyway. :/
