Okay All,

Last bump. Final reminder to join in. I'll be sending out assignments first thing tomorrow.

I'm also in.

I'd prefer you pick something from Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff not previously covered by Glenn Case or others, but as long as you give it a good twist, whatever is fine. You are also welcome to pick any other song I've sung in the archive. Clues to where you might find other projects I've done in my signature.

Damn. I’m late! If BYD can be added we’ll go for it. Otherwise we will cheer from the sidelines.

Man. Two weeks to pick out a song, do it justice, AND record a video, all while a whole bunch of other stuff is happening. What was I getting myself into here?

I'm stupid for committing to this but I know I can make it work. Now to (somehow) pick one song of my chosen artist.

Well, I got my song chosen and have the bass and drums done. Now to get a "guitar" track that doesn't suck and actually learn the words lol.

I’ve picked a song AND learned how to play it. Haven’t recorded anything yet.

And then there’s the video. Yikes.

I've picked a song and worked out the chord progression. And I have a vague idea of what I'll do for the video, which hinges on my car's dashcam working correctly while I drive to my vacation next week.

Funny thing is, this song was written ages ago but couldn’t be more relevant today.

I'm also in "picked a song, figured out the chords, vague video idea" territory. Hoping to make Significant Progress this weekend.

Same here. Song chosen, mostly figured out. Starting to think of how I make it my own.

Picked my song pretty quickly and have figured out the basics. Have an idea for a video. Took a brief sojourn to make a song for How It Comes Apart. I’m super excited about the song I’ve picked!

Oh, y'all are doing videos that aren't just performance vids...hmm. I could do that. Or I'll just be a bum. Maybe I'll use the snap camera and at least make myself be in space or something.

Yeah I don't think I have it in me to do a performance video.

I dunno, at least for me I know exactly how i'd proceed with a performance vid - exactly the same as I did for the live fight. I have no idea where I'd even start with an actual legit music video so I might as well just show you more rooms of my house.

That being said I have no qualms about y'all looking at my mug on camera and I have no hang ups about how I present myself...if I did I'm sure I'd feel differently.

(Ps your performance vids were awesome, even though I know you've said before they were hella stressful to put together)

Oh, for me it's less about presentation and more about how like... I'm learning this song as I'm recording it and doing it all piecemeal as I go. There's no way I'm going to want to go back through all those massive piles of footage to try to piece it together.

Fair enough. I got assigned an artist who usually opts for pretty straightforward song structures and chord progressions, so I just changed up the rhythm, kept the structure, internalized how it's supposed to go, and then have to figure out how to interpolate the words over the totally new feel of the song. Probably depends on how faithful you want to be to the original...and if you recall my Vowl Sounds cover clearly I don't prioritize that a whole lot haha.
