Nur Ein X-Seven
Welcome to Nur Ein X-Seven!
The Nur Ein is an eight round song competition. In each round, the participants are given a song title and a mandatory challenge and are given a week in which to finish that song. Then this year's group of Nur Ein Judges will listen to the songs and rate them from best to worst. Each round whittles down the field until we are left with only 1 competitor. Creativity x Skill x Time Management = Nur Ein!
Nur Ein XV will begin on Monday, May 16th with Round Zero. Round Zero is the way you enter the competition. The participants will have until May 22nd at 11:59PM (Eastern Daylight Time) to create a song from the title and complete the challenge. When a competitor completes a song, it is to be e-mailed to nurein.sidefight which is a gmail address. The songs will then be posted at the Nur Ein website (http://nurein.songlander.com) and the next title and challenge will be announced at the same time.
The Judges will have the next two days to listen to the songs. They will rank the songs from best to worst. If there are more than 25 entries into Round zero, the judges will eliminate the lowest ranked competitors until we reach 25.
Here's the schedule:
Round 0:

Final Round:

Re: Nur Ein X-Seven
Hey everyone,
I think it is time to be honest with myself. I am struggling to keep up with this year's Nur Ein. This past October, I left a job that I had for one day short of 21 years to venture into a new job. Sure, I had left a toxic toxic place but my new job is no cakewalk. It ended up being a different flavor of toxic- one that has been destroying my work/life balance. I am so sorry that I haven't been at my best. Hell, I wasn't even able to get my shit together to compete. Is it suddenly gonna get better over the next few weeks. Probably not. Thank you in huge amounts to this year's jury, especially Mike. They have picked up a lot of slack and have helped keep the car running.

I completely understand, Niveous. My work-life balance has been pretty shaky lately too.Niveous wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 6:57 pmHey everyone,

Taking care of yourself is important, and I think I speak for the whole community when I say we wouldn't want you to burn yourself out to run a contest for us. We appreciate all the hard work you put into Nur Ein and all the rest of your contributions, year after year. Big (electronic, socially-distanced) hugs to you.
