Re: I set my chair by the road to watch (A Grand Parade prefight)
sonofsupercar is in.
A tribute to Blue Lang.
All credit to Glenn Case, who laid great BaseBalls over some of Blue’s unused drum tracks he possesses, then recruited Mo- from the classic 2004 sos lineup to add swirling guitar work.
In addition to the basic guitar, and typical first reading vocals of lyrics I’d just written, I employed the Banjo that Blue gave me that was featured on several sos songs in the past.
I know Blue would have certified Glenn’s production and mix, and embraced the certainty that the song will draw the ire of those who don’t like sonofsupercar.
Shooting for 5th place!

Oh wow that's awesome! Thanks Glenn for making that happen, and for the rest of the lineup for doing one more sonofsupercar song. I'm sure it'll be an amazing tribute.

Re: I set my chair by the road to watch (A Grand Parade prefight)
Wanted to do 3 songs, Rone Rivendale, Rogue Fedoras, and RoneAI. However time limitations (work) has taken that down to 1 song, just RoneAI. It's a subtle tribute to SF as a whole.
If the listening party goes as scheduled, I'll be near 4 hours late because I get off at 11:30pm EST from work.
Good luck everyone, I hope we reach 100 still.

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

Utterly gobsmacked to see that after a nearly 10-year absence melvin is apparently in this one. Gimme the new song now now now.

This is fun. We've got a Chthonic Black song that is sure to lose and another fun one for the parade (w/ possibly the newest and youngest current Song Fighter! involved)!

Re: I set my chair by the road to watch (A Grand Parade prefight)
Hi again! Been a while! I had no idea it was the 1000th fight until I got started, I just had been meaning to get back into it, checked the website, and happened to like the title. Social news, I'm Gareth () not Gareth () (mistakes expected/ok or I'd change it)
Of course I started writing something I liked so much I felt I HAD to record it, rushed recording in one night with unconditioned fingers, and really needed about 100 more vocal takes -- and to transpose the whole thing down a whole step or two I wound up keeping an octave-down reference track to reinforce vocals even though it's off key. And of course, no time for production once I'm done splicing the best parts of the bad takes together... All that's to say, it's exactly like my other songfight entries but 20 years later
OK, the song. Hopefully nothing else I submit will sound like this, I was compelled to finish and was mixing on earbuds and speakers It's about "The Ones Who Walked From Omelas" and a person who won't be forgotten, I don't know how much of that makes it out the other side. Lyrics https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TDt ... IKP1A/edit

Due to all sorts of mayhem, I am left with three unfinished songs and sadly will not have an entry in this milestone event

For what it's worth, I always thought of you as "Sparks."
And, nice to know I wasn't actually the only trans person here back then, after all.

Ha! But at 16 I had never heard Kimono My House, I thought I had inherited a great band name Funny you mention it, if I give "Sparks" in a coffee line I get a look like I made it up Anyway, I am pretty sure you were the first out trans person I knew in an online or offline community, so the benefit was entirely mine

Yeah, that's really nice, thanks to all involved.
Also, folks, get your songs in soon if you want to have any chance of being in the listening party.

OK folks, last call. Any stragglers please try to get your songs in within the next 10-12 hours. We've done well but we're shy of 100 song so if anybody has any juice left you've got a little while to rally for a final push.

I have time but no ideas. I could crank something out if anyone has any extra material lying around that I could finish/repurpose.
