Faux Bedroom

Post by j$ »

Some of you may know my AAD alter-ego The Tiny Paws of Fury. If not you can hear my AADs at my website.

So I have decided to release an album, proper, under the Tiny Paws monkier. It won't be recorded in a day, although other than that the ethos behind TPF will remain (i.e. it will be loose, nasty and childish, with lots of knob gags). It has a working title of 'Faux Bedroom'.

Once it is finished the CD will have colour sleeve, bonus tracks, the ability to be bought via paypal, that sort of thing. And I want to make it as good as possible, obviously. Which is where you lot come in, possibly.

I want it to be collaborative. Mr Balham has already added a guitar part or two. I have a very good mixer/masterer lined up for when it is finished. . Some of my songfight chums will be press-ganged into operation shortly whether they like it or not, but I wanted to give you all the chance to be involved. So if you're inclined to helping out, with a drum track, a guitar line, a backing vocal, synth splurge, spoons solo, or whatever, you would be very welcome to!

I have recorded some rough demos, mainly just first take vocal, guitar and bass, and posted them to my website. You can hear them
HERE.

At the moment there are 7 songs up, and all the titles I will be working with. I will add more as I finish them. I would love to have some real drums on tracks 1 & 2, but other than that, I am not fussed. All inspiration is welcome!

Also posted are txt files with the chords, bpm, words, and a few notes written for Mr Balham but which pertain to anyone who is interested.

My hope is that you will be inspired to record something, then send it to me / link me to it in WAV or AIFF format. (not mp3 because the quality of this needs to be high as possible). It doesn't have to be much, and it doesn't have to be a full track, just a segment, which I can then sequence in.

I will consider everything, if I like it and can use it it will be used. I can't pay you anything but you will receive a credit in the 8 page color booklet, and a link to your website from mine. Plus, possibly, a good review for a songfight song in return ;)

Let me know whether you;re interested. If no-one is I'll just go ahead and do it on my lonesome.

Ah yes, a few of the songs are ... quite GAY! :)

Thats pretty much what I do best.

I'll give it a listen and see if I can add/do anything. If not, I'll just nod and slowly back away.

Please do - having mangled you at remixfight, I would love to have some of your rapping skills featured somewhere.

I can resequence any songs to give people more room if they want to add something but can't find a space in the demos as they are currently ... just let me know

And Denyer - do me something - under-arm fart if necessary - I'll sequence into a rhythm and make it sound good - somehow! :)

Let me know if you want something, Mr. J$, but I suppose we'll have to keep it at a low level so it doesn't suddenly become db&ti :)

Well, if you want to, musical gender reallocation could very easily take place on several of these songs. It would be a pleasure to have you involved.

Everybody, just let me know which song you would like to contribute to, via PM, and I will give you the yeah, nay, or the 'how's abouta this one instead?'

Yep guitar in acc, with 'Boston' setting in Isotope Trash (which is a download off their website.) I agree - it's a mighty tremendous tone!
