metal up your ass?

Post by Lunkhead »

I wanna do a metal song! I picked up my guitar, which was in dropped D, and randomly started playing some really heavy riffs. I can't really do a good metal vocal, unfortunately, so ideally I would like to at least collaborate with someone who can sing/scream. (Erin said she would try to step up to the mic if nobody else wants to.) Writing lyrics would be cool, too. I might be able to help out with that if necessary. Drums and bass would be welcome, too, though I can probably do the bass alright. I can program some drums, too, but real drums would be way better. Who wants to ROCK THE F*@# OUT?!!

OK, vocalist potentially signed up. I could really use a lyricist, though. Reply and/or PM and I will send you a URL to a rough scratch recording of the song (just guitar and some sequenced drums at this point).

So I got a potential lyrical collaborator. Drums anybody? [Double bass drum or pedal required, of course.]

Lyrics supplied. I might have to wrangle them a bit to fit the song. Still waiting for definite confirmation on bass and vocals. Jolly Roger, I'll PM you a link to a demo to see if you want to take a whack it. I've already programmed some drums that are OK, so I've got a backup if the drum thing doesn't work out.

for the record: if any of you ever plan to spend a lot of time playing bass on a particular day, i'd advise against going bowling for a few hours the night before. goddamn are my hands sore :?

Mission accomplished, though slightly hindered by some technical difficulties. See you in the fight!

Sorry about that ... I'm sorry that I couldn't get the tracks down. I should have the recording stuff within a week or so, if I don't have any more problems. Your drum programming was pretty great anyways.

(perhaps worth noting: some recording issues as well as waiting until the last minute to get the part sent in prevented me from appearing on this track. someone may feel free to correct me if this is inaccurate, but i believe all the music is lunkhead, and the vocals are jute gyte.)

tviyh is correct, the music is all by me and vocals are by Jute Gyte, and the lyrics are by Ken. That was my first time collaborating over the Intertubes, and it was a lot of fun and I like how it turned out. I'm still waiting for inspiration for another metal song...

I've got my equipment, so if you want to do another one, I would be available and very much willing to do drums.
