Here, here! I always understand the wait - but this was a neat surprise!jimtyrrell wrote: KUDOS to the powers that be for getting the fight up just one hour after the due time. Outstanding!!

why not give your critical listening skills a little workout instead of these first impression mercyfuck reviews?WesDavis wrote:Wow, like lightning!
Well, I guess that means it's time to review. Here goes!
Aw man, the guy's here in minutes to offer his first impressions, and you gotta jump on him for it? Go crap in a hat.blue wrote:why not give your critical listening skills a little workout instead of these first impression mercyfuck reviews?WesDavis wrote:Wow, like lightning!

5 good, solid reviews after enough listens to know the song inside and out are worth a lot more than two dozen "well this happened and that happened cya."
slut.
And then when he's done, there's a whole nation of folks over here who're offended at the thought too!Caravan Ray wrote:...next person who accuses me of sounding like a bloody Pom - I will search them out, hold them down and jam somthing large and uncomfortable up their rectum :evil:WesDavis wrote: ...British accent.

That said, I'm gonna do reviews this time. Seriously. I promise.
Why don't we go have a nice, romantic dinner somewhere and then perhaps take a leisurely walk in the park, afterward? Whore.blue wrote:why not give your critical listening skills a little workout instead of these first impression mercyfuck reviews?WesDavis wrote:Wow, like lightning!

So what do you base your musical preferences if on if not how cool stuff sounds? Just wondering.WesDavis wrote:This sounded kind of cool until I realized... (i don't like this kind of stuff)
No rhetoric, actually there is no relation...I missed a bunch of people, I know, I know. Don't fret, it's only criticism or comparison. Actually I just played a little game of random listening, while my headphones were on and I had the songfight playlist in my iTunes. Actually your tune, well, it's a cross between Hot Blooded and Rock and Roll Never Forgives. Actually I like the tickley-treble vocal tone, what is that on the vocals that makes it so tickly smooth? And the fact that you used the title differently, I like how your glass is half full, of Coors or Michelob, I presume. Could be Miller High Life though...just might be...just might be you actually sounded like Melvin there during the chorus for a second.rdurand wrote:Wow, Boltoph, was my song so bad it actually didn't warrant even a one line review? If so, this is a rhetorical question.
The vocals have a lot to do with it. Cool as something might sound, vocals can really break a song for me, if they are just so. But yes, even as I wrote that review I realized how contradictory that was, but it was the truth. It's my stupid personal fault, though. I guess I actually shouldn't be going with first impressions, though. There's a lot of music out there that has to grow on me.Spud wrote:So what do you base your musical preferences if on if not how cool stuff sounds? No sweat, thanks for taking the time. I just noticed you skipped the MCs and thought maybe...boltoph wrote:No rhetoric, actually there is no relation...I missed a bunch of people, I know, I know. What are you talking about? The end is the BEST PART.Leaf wrote:Well. I enjoyed it. I wonder if I’m the only person who listened to the end?
No need to apologize. I hate the fact that I'm limited, barring collaborations, to just me and a guitar. I try to make it interesting, in spite of that fact, but it's pretty difficult. That's why I've actually been trying my hand at lead these days, too.Leaf wrote:

I didn't think I'd have to spell that one out...Leaf wrote:

Thanks for the positive review; yes, all my songs are just me. I've always gotten a lot of comments requesting that I move the vocals further up in the mix, and I even thought I did that this time, but obviously I don't have a proper mixer's set of ears.Leaf wrote:Dr. Worm: I like the sound of the guitar, nice and fat and huge. Vocals seem a little quiet, and if it was up to me I’d mix the drums louder too. I like you’re chorus progression, nice and chromatic. Cool bridge. Good rock song. Lead is buried. Reminds me of a very heavy Weezer. You have a nice sense of pop-hard-rock... if that’s such a style. I find this well put together, and groovy. I’m assuming it’s all you… and it sounds like a band rather than one guy. A keeper.
haha oh jeez, sorry I didn't pay that much attention to the names for which I wrote reviews. I'm going to stop responding to things here. Today is my day for looking like a moron, apparently.Leaf wrote:WesDavis wrote:Wow, like lightning!
