It depends. Because it's not so easy.
But, I am registered, have a band name, an album name and cover art ready. I have two nights in a hotel a week and I'm hoping I can lay down whatever guitar tracks I need on the weekends and write lyric on the train and then lay down vocals and arrange in the hotel.
I suppose March will show what comes of it, but I'm hopeful. So, when you consider your situation perhaps you'll make a similar case.

I assume songfighters use songfight titles towards their album, yes?

Yes, I will be. Assuming two titles per week and one SF week being equal to a calendar week, that would only be eight titles. In reality, it will probably be less than that. So it's not like you're going to rely on SF for the bulk of your material, not that it'd be a problem if you did.Ross wrote:I assume songfighters use songfight titles towards their album, yes?
I may (gasp) have to come up with some of my own titles. I may not.
SUK will have the three titles it has up now up for the first four days of the month. It will roll over to the next cycle the next day or so with another three titles. Purple Reign will have eight titles during the month of February. Tuneflow will have four.
Also, I will probably host a sidefight every week, depending on interest. Anyone is welcome to reply, e-mail, or PM with ideas or general thoughts.
I think we'll be covered, as far as titles go. Nothing wrong with entering a FAWM song in a contest, as far as I'm concerned. I'm hoping for some kind of waiver, or just some understanding from everyone, on the one entry per week thing during the month of February.

It depends ... how much time do you think you'll have in Feb? You're a teacher, right? Do you see gaps in your schedule where you can power through a couple songs in a day, or is there a lot of marking to be done?
I'm starting to wonder if I should actually do FAWM. Maybe I should finish my actual album first.

Hold the phone! Can I use songs I've already submitted to SF? If so, I'm in. If not, then my answer remains the same....like Led Zep's song, California sunlight, sweet Calcutta rain, Honolulu starbright, ....cept with answer.Ross wrote:I assume songfighters use songfight titles towards their album, yes?
