Nivfilm

Post by Niveous »

As most of you know, I'm the dad of two boys. Well, this has been an excellent year for them academically and sociall so I wanna do something special for them. I wanna make a set of short films.

For years, me and my boys have played a game called "Ninja vs. the Giant Robots" (the name clearly inspired by the Flaming Lips) using a set of customized action figures I made for the game. Now, I wanna make some animated films for the boys (in the vein of "Action League Now" but with a little more substance).

There is something I wanna ask of the SF Community. Like any good film, there will be music. I don't wanna use music without getting an expressed okay, especially since I may put the results on YouTube (my kids are awfully amused by having things put on YouTube). So, I ask you SF'ers, would it be okay if I use your music in a set of whacked-out animated kids short films?

Sure! The Citizen Six stuff might be more suitable than the Jim Tyrrell stuff. But it's all at your disposal.

of course. I suggest my "red robot" as being especially suited to this sort of thing, as it was written in the form of a theme song for a cartoon. A la "Underdog".

That's brilliant. I think I need to make a red robot action figure for this.

That's cool, though I'm not sure what songs of mine would be fitting for a short film.

If you can find something that would not casue the corruption of your precious younglings, then go for it.

And Niv, while I totally have faith that you know what you're doing, C-ray and I worked on something similar and shorter together a little while back.

Occupational Health and Safety.

By worked together I mean, Ray let me use his music while I did all the leg work. Special effects on action figures is one of the most rewarding things to do.
