Sometimes it's hard to introduce yourself...

Post by benbradley »

But maybe not this time, that just seems like a cool and timely subject line.

I'm Ben Bradley and I call myself a musical hack on my FAWM/50-in-90 page, but I hope I'm getting better than that. I first heard of Songfight many years ago, maybe it was on the reconstituted Yahoo 50-in-90 list, or maybe back on rec.music.makers.songwriting. Anyway, I only signed up in July to go along with this summer's 50 songs in 90 days. I wrote a "I Will Be Acquitted" when that was the Songfight, but I never pinned down what the bridge should be, so I didn't submit it. I finally recorded it and it's on my 50/90 page. Here it is:

I wrote a few songs and fragments as a teenager (back when Nixon and Ford were President(!)), but I didn't get back into it until about 6 or 7 years ago when I started hanging out on rec.music.makers.songwriting.

I'm in highest age range and the top 1 percent of the Demographic Check thread. Geez, I'm old...

Howdy, Ben. Maybe you can challenge King Arthur to a duel. :)

Ben, did you do FAWM 2009 as well? If so, I think I may have stumbled upon your music; your name sounds awfully familiar.

Well, if he was a teenager when Ford was president, then I've got him beat in the demographics... I voted for Nixon (in 1972), though I'm not entirely proud of having done so...

Anyway, Ben, welcome to songfight! Maybe we can do a collab some day as Geezer or something...

Yeah, I think I did three or four songs, and even one for my first year of FAWM in 2008. None seem very memorable, even to me.
