Re: SF in SF: 2010
So, funny story.
It turns out that there was a bit of a miscommunication with the first venue, and we're actually booked there for Friday the 16th. I've sent them a message to find out if we can move it to the 17th (they don't seem to have anything booked that night, but their calendar doesn't show us at all to begin with so I don't know what's up with that), or if we can even get both nights. However this unfolds we'll definitely make this work, but we might be in for a bit of a bumpy ride here.
We'll definitely have stuff going on Saturday and Sunday night, in any case, and it looks like it might be happening Friday too, for those who are showing up for that night as well. Hopefully we can work this such that we can get longer sets than usual, or something.
Best case, we can get SoCha for both nights, and then we can all perform longer acoustic sets there, AND those who want to do a powered set can do it at Mojitos (with preference given for the people who did SoCha on Friday since we may not have a full audience that night).
Worst case, we just need to find another venue for Saturday, but I think that's still possible even at this stage in the game. At the very worst we have a jam session in my back yard or something.
Whatever happens, this year is obviously going to be special in SOME sense.

Hang in there, Fluffy, I know you'll figure it out. If it all goes off the rails, maybe we'll just sit in your backyard and sing songs to make you feel better.

I do, it's just common to my condo building. Nobody ever uses it.
There's also a rooftop deck but I'd have to ask permission from my next door neighbor, because it's her roof. (But she's pretty cool and usually works nights anyway.)

We could do a live Nur Ein, where each round sees three contestants thrown off the rooftop!

OK, I'm in! Of course I have a client meeting Friday afternoon (!#@$) so I'm looking at a late arrival Friday night, and will play wherever I fit in and help whoever desires my contributions. Leaving Monday at some point.
And I created an open collaboration google map for SF Live 2010, so you all can add points of interest, etc.

Re: SF in SF: 2010
OK, new venue info for Saturday July 17th. Erin and Ken and I went over there tonight and met the proprietor and it all seemed like a good fit. We'll be playing at the Abbey Tavern:
http://www.abbeytavern-sf.com/
Show time is from 7 to whenever. They have no problem with full bands, so we don't need to keep it strictly acoustic if we don't want to, though the stage is a bit small. It looked like they have a good beer and liquor selection at the bar. There are tons of food options right nearby, including a pizza-by-the-slice joint two doors over, and an all-night diner a couple blocks away. It's right on Geary St., in the InnerSunset Richmond, at 5th Ave. (Mo and Euc's old neighborhood, I believe), so it should be pretty straightforward to get between there and downtown SF via public transit. We forgot to ask about WiFi, so we're not sure about that yet. Ken and Erin can fill in any pertinent details that I've forgotten.

Re: SF in SF: 2010
Well, now that THAT's settled, I am going to propose a line-up.
The only one who has asked for a specific night (that could find in these multiple threads) is BRODY, who has asked for Sunday at Mojito. However, if anyone takes exception to this schedule, or if you are missing from the schedule, or if you are on the schedule, but are no longer coming to the shows, PLEASE POST.
Note that I have separated the two bigger local bands, BSS and Ken's SDB'nS, so that one plays each night, as the closer. Does this make sense to you all?
I have also nominated JB and myself as emcees, each on the night that our respective bands are not playing. Of course, you local guys might have different ideas, and JB might not be up for it (prod, prod), but I'm just throwing it out there. Ball now officially rolling...
Saturday, July 17, The Abbey
7:00 - 12:00 = 5 hours / 8 bands = 33.3333 = 30 minute sets
Late start and dragging schedule allowed for
Emcee: JB
7:15 Roymond
7:45 Merisan
8:15 Sockpuppet
8:45 Naked Philosophy
9:15 Kasper
9:45 Frankie Big Face
10:15 Jon Eric
10:45 Octothorpe
11:15 Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff
Sunday, July 18, Mojito
6:00 - 11:00 = 5 hours
6 bands x 33.33333 = 3 hrs 20 minutes, leaving 100 minutes for live fight
100 minutes / 6.6666 minutes per band.
Late start and dragging schedule allowed for
Emcee: SPUD
6:15 Brody
6:45 Jonathan Mann
7:15 Minty Handy
7:45 ADD (Jefff)
8:15 The John Benjamin Band
8:45 Berkeley Social Scene
9:30 LIVE FIGHT (title TBA)

Re: SF in SF: 2010
Ken made Facebook events for the two nights:
Saturday the 17th at the Abbey Tavern:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=106558306062286
Sunday the 18th at Mojito:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=131500370216197
If you're not already invited and you plan to intend, feel free to join in there.
Hopefully those won't make anyone want to be shot.

Re: SF in SF: 2010
I can't see anyone sane having an issue with Facebook events. It's never bad to have more avenues of promotion.
(I'm really glad we didn't succumb to doing this as a Facebook group thing, though. That would have just been dumb and exclusionary.)
