I'd just like to go on the official record that: I love this title.
And that pile of papers for me to grade is cursing you under its breath...

Re: What have you written for us lately?
I've been Ruthless lately
Oh I miss my baby
I've been Ruthless lately
Don't know why she hates me
We used to spend every second together every day
But something happened and now, I'm cursing all of my bad habits that
Could have driven her away
I wish she could have stayed
I should have brushed my teeth (woah)
I should have given up coffee (woah)
I should have combed my hair (woah)
I should have learned to use Nair (woah)
etc. Now anyone who immediately thought of that idea is tainted.

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

This title practically sits on it's own hands until they go numb and gives it's self a stranger.

Yeah, my brain went there, first, too. Then I found a good twist for it. Be prepared for more mythological heroines.Manhattan Glutton wrote:I've been Ruthless lately

He's drunk. All. the. time. At first it's like "oh ha ha, he's kind of funny in a weird way". But then you see what he posts at 2AM and you wish he'd go to A.A.

"Stranger."
nice.
Now I just get actual STRANGERS to ... er... help me out. with my situation. downstairs.
ANYway... Yea, I like this title. I still may not get to review these songsies so I might not even vote. I gotsta be fair!
I've made the music for this fight, just have to slap some terrible lyrics onto it and let it ride!

Re: What have you written for us lately?
By the way, I have a real solid start on this title, music and melody wise. I have an image of what I want to write about, but not on paper yet.
Why is it that every time I'm starting a new song, it sounds like the best thing I've ever done, until I start the next song? Does that happen to anyone else?

Re: What have you written for us lately?
I just had the entire song come to me whilst reading this thread - hummed and sang it into the iPhone for when I get home. Now I'm going to have a hard time concentrating at work the rest of the day. BLT is right: this title DOES practically write itself.
Melodic hardcore at 200 bpm, though = may have difficulties finishing in time; I always make the Perfect the enemy of the Good.
BBABM, you wanna collab? I need a little bit of a Rise Against sound here. Gonna try to finish by Saturday.

EDIT: Just realized, MG used the single-word-sentence motif earlier in the thread. Must be something in the interweb air today causing this.

Re: What have you written for us lately?
Mine is about a cross dressing male prostitute that recently lost his Babyruth and has to settle for candy bars that he doesn't like because his small village in Madison Wisconsin doesn't sell them.
The movie will be called Ruthless In Wisconsin.
....it'll be a porn, of course.

Isn't Reaper free? nyjm put together a nice site to organize the freebees in the plugin thread.hillbilly wrote:just cant seem to get it together, trying to use audacity with a cheap mike, sounds like shit, ought to be used to that but this is worse. Yeah, I hate Audacity too. If you're on a Mac or Linux machine, try Ardour.hillbilly wrote:just cant seem to get it together, trying to use audacity with a cheap mike, sounds like shit, ought to be used to that but this is worse. New lap, anything free better than this. james_suttlemyre@yahoo.com
If you're willing to plunk down any money at all, the cheapest non-free DAW (at least that I'm aware of) is REAPER, and it's gotten glowing reviews.
