Yeah, I need to JFDI but I want to do a good job of it and I just haven't had the time to. But with role models like Niveous and Eddiebangs, well...

Oh BLT, you reliable rat bastard. I had a feeling you wouldn't stiff anyone. First I was all then I was all and now I'm all .
Friggin great tune, man. Faithful enough to be recognizable, but still totally BLT in every way. Thank you.
Perhaps I'll take a stab at a stiffee request if I feel sass-ay. Just got laid off from my job, so it's not like I'll be lacking for time...

By the way, BGM, you f**kin' nailed my GOM song. That is a great rendition of Sad Tomorrow! Such a good ol' song and your cover made it shine. Thanks you.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
Thanks, BLT, glad you liked it.
Not a very imaginative interpretation on my part, I'm afraid.
I really, really liked that song (had never heard it before) and felt like I couldn't bring anything new to it because it was pretty great already.
I decided that I'd just have fun learning it and playing it. Thanks for introducing me!

With a borrowed laptop, I have finally finished my GM song and then did a song from someone else's list as well.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
Niveous,
Thanks for taking care of de-stiffing BBABM. I feel really bad about not being able to get to his stuff. The last couple weeks I've been having more problems that people are sick of hearing about, and today I had the worst anxiety attack I can ever remember having.
The last few months have been pretty terrible for me and I'm sory for not being able to fulfill my obligations to people.
(FWIW I was intending to a bluegrass cover of 'Jaked on Green Beers.' Hopefully I will still manage to do that someday.)

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
so i said this... and caravan ray pm'ed me to say he'd like to do it too... and so we decided to cover the song after feb. well, j$'s gifter came through while we were working on it, but we decided to finish it anyway. and it took until now. but we are done!HeuristicsInc wrote:i thought if you got stiffed i'd try a go at the wire cover... but not in february.
Incray- "Outdoor Miner"
after we were almost done i was searching for something or other and found out that there's some crazy record company that put out an entire cd of covers of this one song... so there's 20-some existing covers of it, but hey! here's one more!

Yeah I've got it. It's pretty much what you'd expect, most pretty good covers individually, gets a bit tiresome 12 songs in .... the Flying Saucer Attack version is pretty sweet.bill wrote:after we were almost done i was searching for something or other and found out that there's some crazy record company that put out an entire cd of covers of this one song... so there's 20-some existing covers of it, but hey! here's one more!

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
I am so so sorry for being a stiffer last GOM. I am ashamed of myself, I never thought I would be one of those.
I finally got around to finishing my assignment. It's not much but I hope it goes some way to making up for my failure.
Here is my version of "Beans and Cornbread" by Louis Jordan & The Tympany Five for Boffo Yux Dudes.
http://www.gocarpetburn.com/mp3/beansandcornbread.mp3
There may be a better way to notify BYD so they actually see this. Gimme a nudge if so. My board etiquette is rusty.

No worries. I'll tell Tom G of the BYD. I can get a hold of him right now.
