I didn't know I had to change the thread title, since I didn't change to from "Coverfight?" in the first place. But I changed it anyway.

my entry is nearing completion. thanks for the extra time!
actually i have enlisted some help on this remake, so the covering bandname will probably be different from the original.
this has been fun and finally got me off my butt to re-do this song, since i wanted to do that anyway!

I won't be ready, so I'll just post something at sometime. Somewhere. Another song took priority, which will also be posted at sometime. Somewhere.

That's the same 990 I bought a year and a half ago for ... $60. Which broke 9 months later. Treat that baby with great care. Store it in it's isolation chamber after each use. Don't even look at it! It's quite a nice mic, especially for the price. Just a bit fragile.fluffy wrote:Oh, cool, I'll actually have my new mic by then (did you know Amazon has now partnered with Musicians Friend? MXL 990 for $60!), not to mention time and the ability to bum recording space off of Spud.

It's always bad news when the diaphragm falls out.fluffy wrote:Yeah, actually, mine was broken when I got it. (The diaphragm fell out of its little holder in the capsule during shipping, which caused one of the wires to break.) It was pretty easy to fix though.

That's the correct term Fluffy, JB was making a sexual inuendo.fluffy wrote:Or whatever the hell the correct term is for the little thing which actually gets the vibrations.
My song is done, I just need to upload it along with the previous version. I'll be sending the links in to JB shortly.

Really? I never had any idea that a diaphragm was a form of a contraceptive. Thank you for explaining the joke to me.Dan-O from Five-O wrote:That's the correct term Fluffy, JB was making a sexual inuendo.fluffy wrote:Or whatever the hell the correct term is for the little thing which actually gets the vibrations.

Uh, sorry to say this, but putting this fight up is going to have to wait until Friday this week. Um, so if you wanna do it still, you have until then.
Sorry about this, I went to Atlanta and didn't get everything done before I had to drive to the airport. :-/ This isn't the only thing I didn't get done, alas. But it was either wash my underwear or put up the coverfight.
I'm sure all of Atlanta is grateful for the choice I made. Millions of people would thank you for your patience, if they only knew.
As it is I still almost ran out of gas on the way to Philadelphia. But I'm here, and it only took a half an hour of convincing tech support that it's not my laptop but the ethernet jack in the room that's bad before they bothered to look up the case history and tell me that only the jack in the "kitchen" actually works, despite there being FOUR ethernet jacks in this "suite". FOUR. And ONE of them works. And that's the way it's SUPPOSED to be. I think I'll take a sharpie and label them "DOESN'T WORK" "DOESN'T WORK" "DOESN'T WORK" "WORKS".

Tech support fucking sucks.
Sorry to hear about your issues, though I can't say I'm upset at having a few more days to try to eke out a decent take. Have fun doing whatever it is you're doing, even if it's not fun.

Well if we have until Friday maybe I can do a whole lot better than this:
Glass Eye
Or better yet, it would be great if we could still make this a Beef Animals track as I always thought it ought to be, considering the <a href="http://songfight.net/forums/viewtopic.p ... >indulgent lyrics.
