Link from forum
The guy that posted the topic 'What the hell is SongFight?' brings up an issue I thought might be worthy of mention. If someone happens to stumble across the forums before they get to the main site, there isn't really a definitive link to songfight.org - Maybe there is and I'm really missing something here.
From songfight.org it is very easy to figure out what's happening, but I can understand someone's confusion if they start at the forums.

Even on the internet I can't make friends.

Finally, I feel as if something I've said here has some meaning!jb wrote:yeah, i guess you're right. if i can dig through the phpbb templates and crap to figure out how to do it, i'll add a link. i'll just change the "get down on it, y'all" to something more indicative of context in the meantime.

Spud did some research and figured out what I needed to change, and I changed it.
Now Leaf, my previous comment was intended to convey the point that previous to Dan Wrekenhaus 2''s post the reasons stated for wanting a link to sf.org on the forums page stemmed from the desire for a convenient shortcut. So I was like "nah".
DW2's comment smartly pointed out that that dude who came here recently wanting to know "what the hell is Song Fight" probably found the forums but not the main SF.org Web site. This struck me as a valid point, because if you come to the forums you're going to have a hard time figuring out what Song Fight is.
It's not that he missed the "FAQ" link, it's that he never got to songfight.org in the first place. This used to happen more often when the forums were hosted by Dumbrella, where people would wander in from some other forum like Diesel Sweeties, and not know wtf was going on in this "Song Fight" forum.
So it's not that I didn't want to do this because YOU suggested it, it's that I didn't want to do it because it looked like a pain in the ass for ME just for the slight convenience of some other people.
My thanks to Spud for going through the pain in the ass part.

blippity blop ya don’t stop heyyyyyyyyy
This is funny and sad at the same time, like an alcoholic clown, because it is so irrational and yet such a useful piece of advice. It will save you lots of valuable time because you can, for example, simply ignore any ideas that come from me. On the off chance that I suggest something reasonable (might happen one day), well, if it's a good idea then other people will eventually think of it too.Leaf wrote:It's always a good idea to judge ideas on who is saying it rather than the merit of the idea.

Seriously, I'm not really slighted. I'm prone to irrational humour... and speaking of which, that advice line was followed by the timetested [/rp], which EVERYONE knows means "reverse psychology"
So yeah JB, I thought you were just giving me the gears for fun... and I got into it! No harm...no foul.
And Jack, the porn links are hidden because even I am not that blatent. Which I'm sure is suprising...

I had to come in here and see if you guys were talking about the link, since I just clicked (for the upteenth time) the left-corner forum logo to get back to the main site, cringed (for the upteenth time) because it, of course, never takes me back there, then suddenly -- tada!
So cool. Groovy, even. Also:
