I spent much of this weekend at a game jam with the intention of making music and sound for anyone who wanted it. Turned out most people didn't want it, or already had music lined up (which I think isn't in the spirit of the competition but whatever).
So I made a generative looping ambient soundtrack for a card game, and an interactive soundtrack for a Pong variant. Here's an arrangement of the soundtrack bits (which is what they ended up using since they didn't have time to implement the interactivity part, unsurprisingly):
Then I finished a comic just in time for my self-imposed publication schedule.
Then just before I was about to go to bed I came across a programming challenge that I just couldn't pass up and I am doing very, very badly at (or rather, my AIs are doing really well in rare circumstances but are normally doing really poorly).

Being a gamer will steal away a weekend in the blink of an eye. Certain games like Minecraft and Civilization are time vampires.

Nice soundtrack, fluffy. Reminded me a bit of the Portal 2 soundtrack.
Civ... I got lost in that one quite a lot back in college. Civ 4, that was. Dangerous thing.
My weekend had a lot of bouncing around from thing to thing, but last night I did almost finish the GOM song and then play Guild Wars 2 and then didn't get to bed until 3am... oops.

Masturbating, football, drinking, watching "Spiral", doing the crossword and occasionally remembering to keep up with my music & comics. Not necessarily in that order. I can multi-taskfluffy wrote:QOTD: Which hobbies of yours end up taking over your weekend?

QOTD: Hmmmmm..... I guess my non-hobby stuff has taken over my time lately.
It was my birthday today, I'm 38 million years old now. Whoo!

fatherhood.
All my hobbies have to occur when the kids and wife are asleep. (unless I include them, you may notice my kids occasionally making appearances in my music)

yeah, a lot of my "bouncing from thing to thing" involves fatherhood also.
