2019/1/19 Fibromyalgia

So you know how I've posted a bunch about my wrist problems? I finally got a diagnosis of the underlying cause . A bunch of you have already seen this on Facebook and thanks for everyone who replied to me there! I really appreciate it. I've also heard from dozens of people (including the doctor who ...

Re: Least-shitty distribution and manufacturing channels

Yeah there’s a bunch of amazon sellers who inflate their inventory listings for various reasons and they mostly do it by choosing random low-volume items from the catalog and putting on a ridiculous markup so nobody will want to buy it from them. It’s part of how they game the system, since it both ...

Re: Least-shitty distribution and manufacturing channels

For what it's worth I wrote an updated version of this yesterday: https://beesbuzz.biz/articles/1579-Inde ... 19-edition

It's pretty much the same as back in 2015, except now Amazon has changed the name of Createspace to Amazon Manufacturing on Demand.

What happens when you put six G-strings on a single guitar?

You get some pretty interesting tonality.

Re: New Year's Eve 2018

I went to a party where people were mostly playing the new Smash Bros and I smoked way too much weed. Today I was feeling ill for some reason and did basically nothing but wallow.

Re: Very minor link (non) issue

Yeah I had set the 'song fight' home symbol to link to songfight.org on purpose just because I don't think the forum link at the top is the most obvious thing. For that matter I actually preferred the UX of the forums image linking to the forums, but whatever. I am pretty sure that the old breadcrum...

Re: Looks like there’s a problem with avatar uploads

Ah, turns out that the way phpBB handles avatar images has changed at some point and so what I thought was a permissions issue wasn't a problem at all. Except for it being sort of a problem in phpBB's overly-complex "design," but whatever.

Re: Very minor link (non) issue

The breadcrumb links haven't changed at all in the upgrade , but I misremembered where the forum logo is supposed to link to (since it says FORUMS on it). I've restored things to how they were. Huh, no, from archive.org it looks like the 'home' link on the breadcrumb actually did link to the forum,...

Re: Merry Christmas 2018

Howdy. A few weeks ago I gave up on the freelancer life and got a full time job at an HIV research lab, helping them to make their software not so terrible. It is challenging. Also had some really bad holiday-related blowups with my parents. So this Christmas wasn’t a very good one for me. But I’ll ...

Looks like there’s a problem with avatar uploads

From my log reports there seem to be problems with avatars. I’ll try to fix it sometime this weekend.

Unfortunately I can’t easily see who actually did change their avatar, so if you’ve tried uploading a new one and it’s not working, please post in this thread! Thanks.

I'm having a jam session at my home recording studio tomorrow and I might be able to convince my friends to do something terrible for this fight.

Re: Forum version updated

okay I am really disliking all of the themes I've installed so far. If anyone finds a theme they like (that is phpBB 3.2 compatible) please let me know and I'll see about installing it.

Unfortunately the old default theme never got updated for 3.2, which is why I didn't just install that one. :/

Re: Forum version updated

Yeah there’s a bunch of weirdness with the permissions on this particular subforum and I can’t figure out where to fix it. One of the missing permissions seems to be “post bbcode.” But only for some people. phpBB certainly is a wonderland, and updating it is one of those damned-if-you-do, damned-if-...

I would unsticky this thread seeing as how this feature hasn't existed for years but for some reason phpBB isn't giving me the option to. WTF?
