I wanted to have things like yes and no in the poll, but the borwser didn't seem to want to let me print very many words into the boxes... the "Yes, " and "No, " at the front of each was removed to save space.

on the copyright thing...

Why would the last option on the poll be relevent?
There are actually several websites that publish works such as music/poetry/stories or what have you that force the artist to surrender copyright when they do so.
It's a gigantic scheme to make money.

Wow...

I originally wanted to change my avatar each time I posted a message, but then I decided I wanted to try and see if I could ignore the sudgestion in the profile editing menu and instead link to an on-siet image... and I liked the irony of it, so it's kinda stuck (for all of what, like, three posts n...

Did George Lucas break your heart?

Personally, I wasn't planning on seeing Episode III in the theater. I saw Episode I in the theater a week late only after seeing American Beauty the opening weekend instead. I saw Episode II as my first date with the ex I spent two years with. So why on earth have I seen it? I went to hang out with ...

Do I have to have a subject heading?

(get ready for a bunch of random worthless drek) Never, ever, ever ask a girl anything related to the baby she is carrying unless she instigates it. If she instigates it there are only two acceptable questions. These are: (1) Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? & (2) Is it mine? Yesterday my ro...

Live covers of songfight.org music

Let's say I wanted to go down to the local brew-pub on the open musicians night and do some covers of my preferred songfight.org contestant's entries... what would be considered the apropriate way to go about requesting permission for such a distinct show of support and adoration? What about if I'm ...

If I was 'trolling' then why would I be supporting the admins?
I told him if he had a problem to leave. Are you accusing me of being an admin?

bit torrent tangent

Actually, the RIAA are quite aware of bittorrent and recently announced charges against a few people they specifically decided to go after for copyright violations because they were only detected ever downloading one thing, a tracked copy of Spiderman 2 (the movie). Also, rumor has it that VALvE (ga...

Wow... Censorship is one thing, but changing what people say is not appropriate. Why can't the admin just add a post saying what they want to add to the conversation and sign it. If they want to have a fake handle that's just for thier use, that's pretty common among people in thier shoes. Censorshi...

Ever see Casablanca?

I was paraphrasing the scene in the beginning where he describes the "Ikea Nesting Instinct"... Unfortunate that that is all that remains of the novel's excellent indications of The Narrator's enormous credit card debt. As for your reply? I respond well to clever humor. Slippy, I think thi...

Asking a stupid monkey-business question...

How do you guys like my choice of avatar? Is it too effeminate? What does this 36x36 pixel .gif image say about me as a forum-goer?

I considered putting this post under "quality control"...

I'm certainly glad that I was able to generate some traffic, especially with my first post. In the past on the message boards I've seen you have to hit people with a shovel painted like a nude model to get any attention. So, Jim Of Seattle , do you want to colaborate on coming up with the title for ...

Ironic how apropriate my signature turned out to be... First of all, when I said I felt they should give something over to the songfight community at large I was attempting to imply a vote on the need for change. Second of all, as I said... my opinion is that it's broken because people (even if a mi...

My perceptions of "broke" and "fix it"

I have to admit, when there are a good number of people talking about how much they'd like something not changed, but given alternatives regarding (the length of the fights, for example) I feel that there is in fact something "broken". This tends to indicate someone should at least experim...

asking the admins

I havn't posted here in the past and I don't plan on posting much in the future, however, I recently read a thread where there was some discussion about the possibility of adding a longer-duration fight or an additional fight to the site. I have a question for the admins: HYPOTHETICALLY If we got a ...
