Re: Hold your breath for (The Smoke Is Rolling In reviews)

Night Sky Do I smell a Chris Wood fan here? Really good performance, but the mix its a tad off. The rhythm section should definitely be louder, but you definitely got something great here. Wow, thanks. I must admit that I don't know Chris Wood, but I'll check him out. This started with lyrics writt...

Re: Don't breathe (The Smoke Is Rolling In prefight)

In, once again with better drums than I could have mustered from drummer friend Steve. I didn't run out and get a thumb piano, but I used my dumpster-rescued Korg T1's kalimba voice, so I kinda half-assed the main challenge. Ran my soprano sax through a Cry Baby for the side challenge.

The Smoke is Rolling In - Night Sky You strut up tight so complacent Sizzling with anticipation got your red hot victory dress You know everybody so impressed Dazzled by your own gleaming shine Fuck all those you have left behind It’s a blue fire long overdue It’s a blue fire and it’s coming for you...

Re: If we make it (Better Luck Next Year reviews)

Lots of great songs this week! add : Catchy and fun tune, juxtaposed with clever and appropriately 2020 lyrics. Enjoyed this. Balls To Monte : Pretty rockin’ fuck you to 2020. Dig it. Better Luck Next Year, Night Sky Penny counts the beans all day And paints her wild dreams at night That freak storm in the midwest Left her glorious canvas white Chorus: Working hard is the easy part What gets you are the fights unfought Creeps and demons you didn’t see Better luck next year better...

Re: Graphite vs Charcoal (Let's Call It A Draw reviews)

Thanks for the welcoming words and hints, Sober. I'd be happy to be hit up for horns. I came here in large part to motivate myself to learn to arrange horn parts. Re: punching in and compositing takes, I'm definitely aware, but I'm very much on the steep part of the learning curve. For my first thre...

Re: Graphite vs Charcoal (Let's Call It A Draw reviews)

I'm pretty new here, so this is my first set of reviews. I have tons to learn about all of the disciplines involved in music production, but I think I have a pretty good sense of composition and musicality, so that's my focus in reviews. Brown Word and the Big Whine : Dig the tuba, the overall compo...

Let's Call it a Draw - Night Sky Your tomorrows are paid in full so secure You got the house and the cars and that high ground too Leaving you where you are you're so right you're so pure Clinging to your own side to what felt true Chorus: But I got the memories baby I got the memories You were bloc...

In! Now with 100% less repeat and fade. I don't have any particularly unusual instruments, so I threw in a soprano sax. I figure the alto haters will REALLY hate it.

Re: Last warning: (Please Scream Inside Your Heart reviews)

Matt Just Matt : Sax sounds great! Are you playing that? The music behind it sounds canned and is too far in the background, almost as if you are playing it on one cassette player while recording yourself playing sax on another to "multitrack." Vocals are pretty good, but too dry and a li...
