Re: Building a studio

http://www.johnlsayers.com/Studio/Mainpage/MP-Mark.htm Oddly enough, that's very close to the blueprints I have right now. The only difference being I'm including amp boxes and a dip in the floor in front of the console. I've also decided to "float" the room on hockey pucks; a studio in C...

Building a studio

I'm currently taking a studio recording course in school (part of why I haven't done any recording in the past few months) and for a class project we're supposed to design an ideal studio. It was assigned today so I only have a few ideas of what I want in my studio. I'd really appreciate it if I cou...

Yeah, they kind of screwed up the romulan look but they had to modernize some things, I guess.

Re: Star Trek

Just saw it. I recommend it more than any other movie. Surpassed my expectations and Star Wars as my favourite movie. There are no words to describe this movie besides kapla. Go see it. Now.

All The Small Things

Unfortunately, I can only watch this on YouTube since I don't have BBC One, but after watching two episodes, I'm hooked. For the obvious reason that it's entirely Blink-182 related and one of the main characters is as obsessed with Tom DeLonge as I am with Mark Hoppus, but the songs are really good ...

Re: Keyboards

Does the quality of sound in a keyboard used for live gigs really matter much? In a club, playing through a sound system run by a sound guy that probably lost his hearing years ago, with guitars and cymbals shredding everyone's eardrums, and depending on what kind of place it is large portions of t...

Re: Keyboards

I can record something using the piano voice on my X5D if you're interested. That would be awesome, if you don't mind. :) My main problem with the X5D is its durability. I've broken the action on two keys already while transporting it to practices and gigs. I managed to fix one with some finely-whi...

Re: Keyboards

I believe that the Korg X50 is what Reist has. You might want to ask him about it. He's actually one of the people I know who owns one. Already asked him. I have a Korg X5D , which is its baby sister, which fewer features, less control, etc. Looks pretty sweet but some of the reviewers commented on...

Re: Keyboards

I'd go with Yamaha. This one, for instance has the voice and MIDI features you're looking for, plus 88 weighted keys, but the copy is a little unclear as to whether the keyboard can be detached from the stand. (Pedals are a plus, though, right?). There do exist weighted 76- or 88-key boards that do...

Re: Keyboards

Weight isn't really an issue (I've had to haul marimbas around in the past), it's more about the setup. A lot of the keyboards with weighted keys come with built-in stands which are just as heavy as the keyboard itself. But I see your point about getting two keyboards and I may have to resort to tha...

Re: Keyboards

A serious dent would be anything over 1000$. That's if I can't get financial assistance from my parents. I would probably use the keyboard for practice and gigs. My stage performances at the college would be on a grand as would my lessons. http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/ModelSerie...

Keyboards

I have an audition for a music school in May and I was told that I'll need my own keyboard for the course (the head of the department basically told me I'm in but I have to do the audition anyway  ). The keyboard I own now is crap so I'm looking into getting a new one. Korg and Yamaha seem lik...

Re: Happy St. Pat's

Bulmer's apple cider, gin and cream soda, Malibu and cream soda (which taste like a slurpee aka slushie for my american friends), shot of sheridan's and I smoked a bowl. Mix all that with rock band and tonight is the best st patty's EVA!

I never really listened to Flo Rida until I heard this song. I'm going to have to buy this album when it comes out in April.

Re: Love Me A Little Bit More

Better late than never... Love Me A Little Bit More - Maggie Kanuka If you’re lost in the rain Call me up, I’ll be there. It’s enough just to be Any time, anywhere. In this storm we call love there are laughs, there is pain. Without trust, without friends there’s no point, there’s no gain. You don’t...

Re: Review A Little Bit More (Love Me reviews)

Maggie Kanuka - This was sweet. I thought a beat was going to kick in, a la Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. Might detract, though. I did think about it, but I was fighting with recording programs the whole time and decided against it. Maggie Kanuka – Ah, piano. I'd see in the future if I could b...

Re: What are you waiting for? (love me prefight)

After spending my day fighting with GarageBand and Reaper, I'm not in. Maybe next week I won't procrastinate.

EDIT: Audacity came to the rescue. Not the best mix and the vocals are weak but hopefully you won't hold that against me.

The New Radicals I remember listening to You Get What You Give in elementary school. Good song. I'm currently (re-)listening to Enema of the State by Blink 182. It's no secret that I love Blink but I recently wrote a review for this album and I almost forgot how much I love it. I also dug out The S...
