Re: Avengers: Endgame

Apparently they're going to send it _back_ to theaters with some new bonus stuff post-credits or something or other, in a blatant attempt to push it to the number one box office record ahead of Avatar or something. $$$ https://screenrant.com/avengers-endgame-rerelease-post-credits-scene/ They can g...

Re: Avengers: Endgame

Saw it last night with my wife... probably the last week it'll be in theaters, so just in time. We hadn't seen Captain Marvel yet and that just hit Blu-ray so luckily we were able to get in before having to wait for another Blu-ray viewing... seeing Spider-Man comes out in a couple weeks... you'd th...

Re: Is this a good deal on a good stage piano?

No idea if it's good, but I thought of this thread when I saw it today. Casio CDP-S100CS Digital Piano with Wooden Stand Black is the Stupid Deal of the Day at Musician's Friend today. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid $349.99

Re: New Music Friday - 6/7/19

Not sure where to post this... probably should go in the next New Music Friday - 6/14/19... but in case you haven't heard... Radiohead had been hacked and supposedly threatened to pay a ransom for 18 mini discs worth of OK Computer sessions... which were supposedly leaked online after Radiohead refu...

Re: Sacred Cow Challenge

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't write a song called "Wild Thing". Just my 2 cents. Tone Loc would disagree. See... that's my point though... you obviously knew of that Tone Loc song and it came to mind immediately... you didn't have to Google the song title, and even though Tone Loc obviously wrote a so...

Re: Is this a good deal on a good stage piano?

Ah... I admit to just skimming your post... I was under the impression you were looking for confirmation that $800 may indeed be a good price. I've got a Casio PX-100 Privia 88-Key Digital Piano and it is indeed quite the monster setup in my basement. It would take up most of the space under your be...

Re: Sacred Cow Challenge

Personally, I was glad that I didn't have to write a song for "Where The Streets Have No Name" as 99 out of 100 people would either not listen to it because they don't want to hear a U2 cover song or they'd be disappointed that it wasn't a U2 cover song. It seems like a no win situation to me. While...

Who's to say that the judges that ranked you bottom aren't correct? Why should someone be saved by default and not eliminated by default?

Familiar to the judges... the only people who's opinion (in this competition) you should care about. Obviously some people don't... but those people get voted out quickly. ;)

Re: Deals On Gear and Software

I have to say that the way these companies obscure what the upgrades include really bothers me... like there is no information on NI's website telling me what I'm getting for $99.50 if I choose to "upgrade" my Komplete 11 to Komplete 12. For all I can tell it's Kontact 6 and Massive synth? The fact ...

Re: Deals On Gear and Software

Just a quick note for anybody that was looking at that Cubase deal... I was curious... they had a "cross-grade" deal where you could get the Pro version for like $170 if you had another DAW on the list... sort of like a cellphone company trying to entice other users to their side of the street. Whic...

Re: Vocal level automation

Personally I have my clip gain with the volume line in the center that I can drag up or down... That’s actually how I found out about the knob- cause I didn’t want freakin red lines everywhere by default. It’d be nice if they were off until you select an item or something. Ah... perhaps it's a them...

Re: Vocal level automation

I've got that Vocal Rider and the Bass Rider and never use them... I just use compression. For vocals I just slap Gain Reduction Deluxe on all my vocals and call it a day. I don't know what Reve does when I give him raw vocals... but when I'm doing my own mixing that's what I'm doing. I slap it on b...

Re: Deals On Gear and Software

I'm always tempted by the MXL mic sales as well... then I realize that I already have a few MXL mics and I have no idea what the differences are between them all... right now I've been using an MXL 440 for all of my vocals... since October of last year... I had been using another MXL before that... ...

[*]00:24:26 - Frankie Big Face Jeez guys, how do you square that review with ranking me 2nd and 4th from last? No sour grapes here, but I just don't get it. If I'm being eliminated I expect to be told how much I sucked. To be fair... when there is only 12 left... and 4 have to go... that's 1/3 of t...

So... getting back to the wireless stuff... I tested last night... and it's not perfect... because you can't have any interference on the wireless 2.4ghz channels that these systems use... but I was able to use these: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LC8LYK2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?i...

Congrats to Gert! I just wanted to say thanks for the reviews everyone! Also I didn't know until now, but in regards to Gert... I found Song Fight! in 2008 thanks to Deshead (I think he had a blog or something about home recording and linked here?) and the album "SOUNDTRACK" by thehipcola was the fi...
