Re: Deals On Gear and Software

I own the Tweaker 15 head and I love it. If I didn't already own it, I'd have definitely bought this combo version deal of the day. It's got Marshall/Vox/American sounds all in one nice little tube amp. It was my first tube amp and it's a beauty. Can't really go wrong for this price, if you don't li...

Abbath - Outstrider (burning my digital download of the FLAC files to CD as we speak so that I can listen in my car on the way home...) which is the 2nd album by the almighty Abbath. I really loved his debut record and it's one that I can put on repeat for weeks on end in my car. Looking forward to ...

Re: Promote your own ish

Congrats on the 5 albums! That's great. We'll have to start calling you Glenn Gizzard The Lizard Wizard now or something... I do believe that the thread where we'd traditionally post stuff like this would be here: hey listen to my new song (thread) , but I think this Promote your own ish thread is a...

Re: DIY Acoustic Baffling Article

I don't know man... sounds like you may be better off just putting in a carpet and a couch or something for that price. I mean... unless you live/record in an empty bathroom... it shouldn't be so bad that you need to buy $250 padded gobos. I say this because after replacing my bathroom window this p...

Re: New Music Friday - 2019-06-28

I will probably try to listen to Thom Yorke, King Gizzard (single), Boris & Abdullah Ibrahim from this weeks list... Edit: Listened to King Gizzard's single Self-Immolate (King Gizzard Psych Wizards do Thrash Metal?), cool and also listened to Rare Field Ceiling by Yellow Eyes. Haven't had time to l...

I tried to Google "How Massive changed the world of music" and came up empty... care to share any information? I've never used it... even though I've probably owned it for quite a few years now.

Re: The Guitar Doctor Is In

Some amps have massive volume shifts between channels and it's unavoidable. Not sure how the Mesa Dual Recto is setup... but it may be that there is no good way to switch between channels on the fly with your footswitch without an unavoidable volume jump. Sometimes amp channels share certain control...

Re: Free Plug ins

Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread or not before... but http://www.airwindows.com/ makes some pretty cool and useful free plugins. No fancy GUI stuff... but they tend to do what they're supposed to do. Worth taking a look at anyhow.

Re: The Guitar Doctor Is In

Guitar doctor, how do I get good distortion out of my Dual Rectifier without blowing my ears off because the gain knob is touchy? And should I get a cab that is smaller than a severely obese grade school child, or is there a combo I might replace the whole rig with that gives me the same sound with...

2 years of MasterWriter for $80: https://www3.masterwriter.com/store/store/licensepromotion1New.do?dcn=10067&writer_type=2 I haven't used this, but it has a lot of testimonials. It looks like a bunch of decent dictionaries with decent search tools. Not sure, but I think it might actually run on you...

Re: Avengers: Endgame

Apparently they're going to send it _back_ to theaters with some new bonus stuff post-credits or something or other, in a blatant attempt to push it to the number one box office record ahead of Avatar or something. $$$ https://screenrant.com/avengers-endgame-rerelease-post-credits-scene/ They can g...

Saw it last night with my wife... probably the last week it'll be in theaters, so just in time. We hadn't seen Captain Marvel yet and that just hit Blu-ray so luckily we were able to get in before having to wait for another Blu-ray viewing... seeing Spider-Man comes out in a couple weeks... you'd th...

No idea if it's good, but I thought of this thread when I saw it today. Casio CDP-S100CS Digital Piano with Wooden Stand Black is the Stupid Deal of the Day at Musician's Friend today. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid $349.99

Not sure where to post this... probably should go in the next New Music Friday - 6/14/19... but in case you haven't heard... Radiohead had been hacked and supposedly threatened to pay a ransom for 18 mini discs worth of OK Computer sessions... which were supposedly leaked online after Radiohead refu...

Re: Sacred Cow Challenge

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't write a song called "Wild Thing". Just my 2 cents. Tone Loc would disagree. See... that's my point though... you obviously knew of that Tone Loc song and it came to mind immediately... you didn't have to Google the song title, and even though Tone Loc obviously wrote a so...

Re: Is this a good deal on a good stage piano?

Ah... I admit to just skimming your post... I was under the impression you were looking for confirmation that $800 may indeed be a good price. I've got a Casio PX-100 Privia 88-Key Digital Piano and it is indeed quite the monster setup in my basement. It would take up most of the space under your be...

Re: Sacred Cow Challenge

Personally, I was glad that I didn't have to write a song for "Where The Streets Have No Name" as 99 out of 100 people would either not listen to it because they don't want to hear a U2 cover song or they'd be disappointed that it wasn't a U2 cover song. It seems like a no win situation to me. While...

Who's to say that the judges that ranked you bottom aren't correct? Why should someone be saved by default and not eliminated by default?
