Today's Google Doodle

I think that is what they call it. Everyone go to the Google homepage today and check out the Bach AI harmonizer. It is really incredibly cool. I just put in 4 notes and it generated a two-measure, four-part harmony. Sounded awesome. Check it out and add yours below: https://g.co/doodle/dhcf2n Bonus...

New Music Friday - 2/15/19

Looks like we missed this week.

I'm really digging this album Texas Piano Man by Robert Ellis. Really good classic songwriting and production. Highly recommended if you like that kind of thing. It was released on Valentine's Day.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2019 Location

I know this has traditionally been a two night event, but after the last couple of years, (and the response to this thread) I suspect that one night will be enough for this year's event if that takes some of the pressure off anyone considering hosting.

Re: The Umbrella Academy (on Netflix)

Finished this over the weekend and enjoyed it. It became fairly clear where it was going, but they set up season two well enough for me. I'll watch it when/if it comes out.

Wow, it's been 14 years since Boston, it would be great to have it there again. I don't think we have any active Boston residents at the moment though, do we?

Checked out Indoor Pets - Be Content. It was a fairly enjoyable pop/rock album. Catchy if not memorable.

New Music Friday - 3/8/19

Hi All, First and foremost, let's be sure to all listen to Songfight veteran MC FRONTALOT's new album NET SPLIT today. He needs literally thousands of digital plays to equal the sale of one physical CD. Other albums I plan to check out today: Wyclef Jean - Wyclef Goes Back To School Volume 1 David G...

Finally started watching this over the weekend and it is okay. I'm mostly surprised by how old some of the songs on the soundtrack are. David Gray songs from White Ladder?

Yes, those tracks are seriously long. I don't remember how much of it I listened to. It is fairly intimidating.

Thanks for the reminder! I fell down a Tortoise hole this morning and have been listening to them all day. I'll take a break to listen to these next: Hozier - Wasteland, Baby! I'm not a fan or anything, but I heard a lot about his new song Nina Cried Power and really liked it. Curious if the rest of...

How's the Lemonheads album? I'm a big fan of nearly everything they've ever done... apart from the first Varshons, which I thought was terrible, so I'm a little wary of the new one.
it's no Shame about Ray. Pleasant enough for a couple of listens, but not very exciting overall.

I'm digging the Better Oblivion Community Center song Dylan Thomas quite a bit, which is a surprise for me because I usually don't care for Conor Oberst, but in collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers, I'm really enjoying this track. I'm going to check out their self titled debut today. https://youtu.be/...
