Re: Occupy My Prefight Thread
Saw the title yesterday and the cosmos parted and gave me almost the entire song. Left work and recorded all of the bass, rhythm guitar, and drum tracks. It's entirely possible that I shall submit...something.

Yes, yes, but sometimes --like a certain Mr. Plant-- I just can't seem to find the bridge.

Re: From Asses to Ashes. Are we here yet? (prefight)
Do ya'll want distorted guitar or clean guitar for the verse? The chorus will probably be distorted. All distoshun! All the time! Of course, a title like this makes me think of Blackend by Metallica. I'd attempt to come up with something, but... I have half a song. Why is the second half always har...

Manhattan Glutton - Love the second verse -glad I wasn't drinking Coke at that precise moment. You need to double your voice [ see: Denise ]. Maybe a different effect on the piano? The little fills during verse 3 are really cool, though. Perfect little accents. Ooh, tambourine breakdown. Wanted to ...

Re: Reviews are the Heartbeat of this Fight (YATHOTOFS Reviews)
Billy and the Psychotics - Love the sonics, the music not as much. Denise's voice just really carries things along here, doesn't it? I just don't see myself humming along to it. Needs more hookiness. Of course, this is coming from the guy who totally dug chthXchthXchthX's cacophany -so take it for ...

So, the good MC was frightened by Cthxcthxctcx's entry, which meant only one thing - I would be listening to it first. THIS is good stuff my friends. Would you guys be willing to tab it out? The sheer atonality and musicianship just really does it for me. I wish the mix was a bit more bass-heavy, bu...

Re: What have you written for us lately?
So, when programming drums for a song that is moving along at 160 bpm, it's helpful to know which beat your riff starts on. In this case, my 4/4 riff just happens to "start" on the 8 instead of the 1. I've spent a good three hours trying to fix this and finally figured it out. This song is...

Re: What have you written for us lately?
Why is it that every time I'm starting a new song, it sounds like the best thing I've ever done, until I start the next song? Does that happen to anyone else? :P Every. Single. Time. EDIT: Just realized, MG used the single-word-sentence motif earlier in the thread. Must be something in the interweb...

Re: What have you written for us lately?
I just had the entire song come to me whilst reading this thread - hummed and sang it into the iPhone for when I get home. Now I'm going to have a hard time concentrating at work the rest of the day. BLT is right: this title DOES practically write itself. Melodic hardcore at 200 bpm, though =...

Re: Stuck in the middle? Try this... (prefight)
Does it go something like this? http://youtu.be/JKHku19fQck I would contend that mine rocks harder, though I have to admit that the chorus bass line is not nearly as cool. Ooh, bold. This I gotta see (hear). A big +1 on GlaceVerb, too. It's one of my go-to 'verbs (vox, lead guitar, keyboa...

Re: I don't golf (Isle Dauphine reviews)
MG : Diggin' this. Weezer-ish. Better yet: Blue Album Weezer-ish. Solid song structure - very, very tight. Poppy, frothy goodness...with 'lectric geetars! BBABM : Man, oh man...this is good. I just want to flesh this out some more - percussion or something on verse two. Curse you and your "i-c...

Reviews (finally): Berkeley Social Scene - Like the funkiness, the jamminess of it all. That said, the looseness of the two vocals is such that it kind of distracts. I also wish that they were a bit more forward in the mix. You guys always have this vocalist too far back - I like his voice, ya know?...
