Starfinger - noisy in a fun way, esp the solo/bridge area, a bit long for my taste Jonathan Mann - adore the drum machine and Chariots-of-Fire synths...

Re: hey listen to my new song (thread)

I put together an album from stuff I've written over the past few years. There are a few Songfight tracks on there, including an entirely new version of a song I did way back in 2011 (If I Had One), as well as songs that just haven't found a home before that saw me exploring pop structure (The Mall ...

Re: coverfight

Paco, your cover of Under Over is the version of that song I had in my head back in 2011, but didn't have the skills to execute. Except that your backing vocals are better than my head version. Love it. Also, Jerkatorium's cover of Control Yourself is legitimately great and I can't stop listening to...

As always, my reviews decline in quality as the fight goes on, so I apologize to those who were randomly placed later in the sequence. Phunt – I thought there was going to be a song for a second there. The Grim - I am not equipped to review a song of this genre. Bombernauts - That synth tone is tast...

toby roktot — Live? Quel intéressant. Vocals have notes of Randy Newman. Harmonica points. The Worldly Self Assurance — Good, lovable 90's vibe. The solo guitar is a bit Sonic-the-Hedgehog-esque. Frisbee's vocals always melt my heart. Paco Del Stinko — Sort of a more rock Oingo Boingo thing going h...

Re: Never Was A Cloudy Day (September Reviews)

Kenka : The arrangement reminds me a bit of Tarkio, which is good. The vocals may have too much reverb on them. They can get hard to understand. Good harmonies, though. inflatable vegetables : Good and lo-fi, like early They Might Be Giants, but more gospel-ish. The repeated lyrics bring it all tog...
