$350 for Studio Monitors

I've got about $350 for some active studio monitors. My question is, should I buy a pair for $350 or less (KRKs, Rubicons...) or buy one $350 monitor (Yamaha HS80M...) now and save up for another one later?

Also, feel free to suggest any monitors.

Thanks!

Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0?

I'm looking for a mixer that I can hook up to a mixing program and record/monitor in real-time. This will only be for recording purposes. I have a proper mixer for live use. I want something that will send each input as an individual track into my mixing program so that I can record my band live (wi...

How to wire a keyboard speaker into 1/4" output

I bought a Yamaha PSS-80 from a thrift store the other day for hella cheap. It sounds sweet but it doesn't have a 1/4" output and I don't like having to mic it up. Is there a way I can rewire the speaker into a 1/4" out?

Thanks!

How to get vocal distortion/megaphone effect live

Hello, helpful songfight community. I've playing live a lot recently and I was wondering what would be the best way to get vocal distortion/a megaphone effect live. This wouldn't be constantly used the entire time while singing, just something I could turn on and off. Is there a certain pedal I shou...

Thanks, I'm looking at some USB sound card stuff right now. A lot of them aren't USB 2.0.

I just need to run FL Studio through a PA, does it make a notable difference if it is USB 1.0/1.1?

Thanks again!

Laptop to 1/4"

I've been using a 1/8" to 1/4" converter in the headphone jack of my laptop to plug it into amps/PAs. My headphone jack has become realy loose recently and is not reliable. Is there an alternative (inexpensive) solution?

Thanks!

Actually yeah.

I bought a bundle of 2 hero controllers off of ebay that were labeled as "BROKEN" with intentions of using them to make a keytar.

when i got them it turned out they both worked. I got 'em super cheap and kept one to use with my copy of GH and used the other for my keytar.

Re: Lord of Oats Reviews WOOO

I don't usually do anything that's derivative like that, so it didn't really occur to me, but that's a lot more creative than just writing about the city, like the rest of us did. Yeah, I figured everyone else would do that so I tried to take a different approach. I jokingly suggested doing the son...

Robot voices and T-Rex roars!?!

That may be a bit too ambitious, even for yourself.

It's about Memphis Raines from Gone in 60 seconds. The shitty remake with Nicholas Cage. It was written from Kip's (Giovanni Ribsi) point of view.

I'm just looking for a better sound in the vocals all around. Not necessarily choruses or anything.

Any mic recommendations that won't break the bank?
