Re: hey listen to my new song (thread)

Spin the Bottle is my favourite of the three. The playing in all of them is great. I Am a Target -- The vocals at the start are a little drab. It's better when they liven up, but then I can't make out the words. This song has less textural variety than the others. There's a dramatic and very effecti...

In! Please pardon everything (I mean it). I wasn't going to be in, but then Manhattan Glutton left one possibility out of his predictions, so I had to do it. I put together something short. Now I can work on the basement all weekend. Whoopee!

Reist asked, following elucidation of some obscure lyrics: Does that make more sense? Barely -- even when they're explained. The lyrics are extremely elliptical regarding the situation, and on top of that they're written in code, with unexplained allusions like "thief" and "fake," and then on top o...

Manhattan Glutton prognosticated: Here are my predictions for this fight: - A crazy, all over the place song about all things which are played - A crazy spotlight on one particularly banal thing that is played (like a piano, gameboy, or soccer) - A bunch of way 2 srs songs about unfortunate suckers...

There are so many reasons why it's hard to keep yourself moving that I thought I'd try, with your help, to identify some of them in the comments below. I'm not a tough marker -- if on balance it appealed to me, I voted for it -- but I do make an effort to explain what I think does or doesn't work. B...

In, but the recording feels crowded. I think when you have to turn a track down to 2.5 in the mix, that's a hint that the track didn't have enough headroom.

Re: Sometimes it's hard to come up with a thread title: prefight

I recorded enough this weekend that I'm compelled to finish it, just so it wasn't all for nothing. There are sloppy bits I'd like to correct, but I probably won't have time. The drum track is totally inadequate. I still have to come up with lyrics. Things are busy at work. Sound inspiring, doesn't it?
