Re: Song Fight Live 2021
Just finished watching, that was really great again! Loved the Glenn & Rachael set to finish it off. Glad I could make a little cameo, too
Excellent work everyone. Looking forward to (catching up on) the live fight (several hours later due to sleeping).

Re: Behind a Mask
Vom Vorton I’m just like a soldier who won’t give up the war although there was a ceasefire several months before I’m like a football fan that will not celebrate because they fear a comeback even though it’s far too late am I a stickler for the rules? am I waiting for a cure? or does my dedication ...

Re: Circle of Titles 2021
I was offered the following titles:
98% Sure
A Man About a Horse
Here's my take on 98% Sure.
I was offered the following optional challenges, but didn't manage to get either of them into the lyrics:
Lyrics feature at least two named characters
Implied rhyme/Subvert the expectation of a rhyme

I caught up this morning too. Really good stuff from all involved!
I don't think I've ever been young enough to stay awake between 2 and 5am but I like watching the chat replay, it's ALMOST like being there.

Re: Circle of Titles 2021
Sorry to hear about your dog.
I managed to get all of the music for mine recorded yesterday, so hopefully I can figure out the words before the new deadline.

Re: Circle of Titles 2021
I've got nothing yet. I'm finishing my current job today and starting a new one next week and at present I am stressing out too much about everything to be creative. Hopefully I can get something written this weekend to take my mind off it all.

Re: sonofgearfight #1: "These are the Jokes"
Vom Vorton awkward phrasing on "not sure how much comfort in that I'm supposed to take", a lyrical inversion like "down the stairs he did fall" that forces the rhyme. Thanks for the detailed reviews! Slightly confused about this part though, I wouldn't consider this line to be a...

Re: sonofgearfight #1: These are the Jokes
Vom Vorton A friend asks how I'm doing and a shudder runs right through me as I contemplate how honest they're expecting me to be And so I shrug my shoulders, and say that I've been better Wait for the Nobel Prize for understatement to reach me in a letter I know I’m not alone in paranoia and heart...

Re: Nur Ein XVI: Round Five "The Only Way Out"
The Lowest Bitter - that bassline is ridiculously catchy. Perhaps... too catchy? No, that isn't a thing. This is a song I liked on first listen and enjoy more each time I hear it, so pleased to see it win the round! Great lyrics and I love the effect when the synthy chorus drops back out to the bas...

Re: Nur Ein XVI: Round Four "Waiting For The Sun To Fall"
I liked your song a lot Nick! It would be nice to hear from a judge or two, I know reviews are a lot of work but it's always hugely appreciated when people put the effort in. I was not surprised to be eliminated this week but I enjoyed making my strange song, it was very much out of my comfort zone....

Re: Nur Ein XVI: Round Four "Waiting For The Sun To Fall"
Here you go, some quickly written reviews, after three listens (to the competition songs) or two for the shadows (or first listen for Governing Dynamics as it wasn't posted yet when I listened before). Not sure there's much helpful in here but we all like reviews, right? Reviews! Balance Lost - love...

Re: Nur Ein XVI: Round Four "Waiting For The Sun To Fall"
Vudget Vears : Also is there a reason the vocals (and drums) were mixed to sound like they're in the next room? I actually made the massive effort to check for liner notes to see if there was a reason for this but I was left empty-handed. It feels like the guitar is at the front and everything else...

Nur Ein XVI - Waiting for the Sun to Fall
Budget Bears Waiting for the sun to fall to fill the sky and make us blind a fitting end for all mankind the flames descend and take us all Some chose to flee the fireball But we, the faithful, stayed behind Waiting for the sun to fall to fill the sky and make us blind And so we meet at the town ha...

Re: Nur Ein XVI: Round Three "Pleasant Row"
I'll properly review another round at some point, but for now I'll just throw a big +1 on pretty much everything Pete said, especially re: that Grumpy Mike / Cybronica song being an incredible amount of fun and a great take on the title / challenge. Budget Bears: Lust for Life much? Guilty as charge...
