Re: Under siege all over (The War On prefight)

The phrase "The war on" is a rhetorical tactic regardless of the object (the Internet's top suggestions include terror, drugs, poverty, kids, and Christmas -- oddly, cancer doesn't make this list). If you want to reflect on it as a generic rhetorical device used to mobilize a political or...

I'm only considering performances that I saw in person. I'd say, Hoblit, Dre, JB, or Paco in Tampa, or Octothorpe in Santa Cruz. Leaning towards Hoblit.

Re: Under siege all over (The War On prefight)

The J. Biveous "Day of the Dead" didn't get many questions about it, probably because it was me I suspect... More like because it was one of Niv's many lyrical entries, so we all knew it was topical. The SF world doesn't revolve around you , ya know! Okay, yeah, so in actual fact it liter...

The consequences of taking the wrong approach are quite severe. Proceed with caution.

I couldn't log in last time I tried, which was Friday evening (Nov. 13). I got a bunch of php error messages on top of the regular screen saying "You are successfully logged in", then auto-redirected to a white screen with different php error messages, then went back to Board Index without...

Wonderful, thank you. I'm listening to some of the "Humorous recitations", and they're incredibly dull, except for the fact that they're a window to the past.

Re: Dawn, Diary, Land, Survival, and (Day of the Dead review

Great fight y'all, all the songs were at least pretty good. I'll post reviews just as soon as I stop being a lazy bastard (i.e. not this time). I voted for over half the entries, and it probably boils down to genre bias more than anything else: Cashpoint, Caravan, Hill, Jerks, KSDBNS, Possum, Soma, ...

Are all Australians good-looking, or is this video not representational?

Oh hi, yes, I'd like one Caesar salad with blue cheese dr--oh, okay, ranch then, and two bowls full of mozzarella sticks. And a Coke. Yes, that's all.

It's been long enough, here it is. This was fun to make. Lyrics are posted, and they're great lyrics.

I'll take another one if you got one.

That's definitely you. I was wondering if the other two guys represent particular songfighters, too, or any other real people who may have been there.

Interesting. I've been using links like youtube.com/watch?v=jCDSZr2zzws and putting watch?v=jCDSZr2zzws between the tags, but jCDSZr2zzws works too. (That's a great song I didn't link to, btw.)

I also felt lyrically targeted. Even if I wasn't, I'm glad I got the "I'm a monster" song.

If you want more of that streamy guitar (and pan-flute kinda thing), you can find it in Niveous's "WTF".
