Re: Hit snooze, then later (Wake Up Again prefight)
To be fair, you have until the songs are posted and, if memory serves, they've only been posted as soon as the morning after the deadline once in the past couple of years. Granted, I've been a chronic send it "post deadline but pre posting" person of and on for years. Not knowing exactly w...

Re: Pronouns profile field added
All that’s been asked by the site (to which I am not affiliated, just a user) is that people who don’t want to provide their pronouns don’t use the field to make the kind of goofy jokes that are most often used to spread hate. I wanted to point out that if you made the field optional then there wou...

Re: Wake Up Again
Wake Up Again Pigfarmer Jr I hear the beeping from the waiting room I can hear it all night long 'Till the beeping stops and I hear the alarm And I know that something's wrong Footsteps clatter down the hall Rushing to get to you I feel helpless with nothing to do But wait and see I'll wish upon a ...

I bet you could write a song to the songfight title and post it over at FAWM, too. Might tag it #songfight. At least, that's my plan.the panna cotta army wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 6:51 am...probably my last fight for a while... FAWM is on the horizon.

Re: Name a state with no Daylight Savings Time (Surprise, Arizona reviews)
I purposefully removed the "U.S." from "a U.S. state" to conserve space in the title of the thread. I debated. But I figured there is only one or two people who would care and what's the chances they'd be bothered enough to mention it? All that being said, your point is valid... ...

Re: Song Fight! Turns 20
People can already enter with as many band names as they want, and the workarounds that have been used are just because there's no way to tell things apart otherwise, both in the software and by the humans using it. I probably wasn't clear but those two points are exactly what I was trying to point...

Re: Song Fight! Turns 20
It would be possible to break the record if the restriction on multiple entries per participant were lifted. There's no rule against multiple entries per person. Y'all should make a rule that only one entry per band name to avoid the problems with multiple band names and their work arounds on the f...

Re: Copyright musings
John Cage's "4:33" contains four and a half minutes of complete silence. Actually, the music was the ambient sound the audience (and performers) made while sitting still for 4:33. It' starts as near silence and usually ends with some ruffling, coughs and maybe even nervous laughter in the...

Re: Name a state with no Daylight Savings Time (Surprise, Arizona reviews)
According to my research it's Hawaii. And Arizona counts as a state but one of the reservations (Navajo, I looked it up) does observe it because part of the reservation goes into another state and they want everyone to be on the same time. Which I found interesting enough to waste space typing it out.

Re: The MP3 Effect
An MP3 version of something is better than nothing, most of the time. Also, the whole Neil Young "huge difference" between MP3 and whatever that bullshit was he was hawking was 128kbps mp3s. With 320 (or even 192 or whatever) it's much harder to tell the difference. If you're riding in the...

Re: Least-shitty distribution and manufacturing channels
Thanks for that link comparing them all and mentioning Soundrop @Pigfarmer Jr, So the drawback to soundrop is they only release to 23 platforms rather than 100+ on some of the others. Routenote also takes 15% with no fee (if my research is correct) so I think I'm gonna try that one next. If anyone ...

Re: Least-shitty distribution and manufacturing channels
Used Soundrop for that double album tribute thing that Vom and I were a part of back in June (ish.) Setting up was harder than on distrokid but not by a lot. A buck a song for each cover, one time fee. Their reporting seems very simple and undetailed but those songs haven't received many streams/lis...
