Roymond (8, 8, 7) This is charmingly stupid. Oh man, that's awesome. Spud! Add this to my profile quotes in the archive! Instead of long written reviews I've featured my favorites from both fights on my songfight podcast: http://roymond.com/icn/ NIL Carol Cleveland Sings Jim of Seattle Les Diphthon...

(sorry to have pissed you off) I wasn't pissed off PJ, just sort of amused with the "here's something just in case" thread. In retrospect I guess I went a little far. And you did tell JB to delete it if he felt like it, but then that's another thing for him to do. Oh shit, now I'm the one...

So, this is a thread about the concept of linking to a page with non-songfight songs and a suggestion that one might use this thread for that concept, and yet you don't link to a page of your songs which are not songfight songs and which you can't link to via somesongs, which is why this was such a ...

Roymond (B) Did you bring Frank Zappa back to life for the crazy middle section? It's scary how much that sounds like Zappa... the rest of it not so much though. Overall it's okay, but I especially enjoyed the middle section and the laughing woman in the background. Hey thanks for the positives. I ...

...just to move this along a bit. Apparently last year Blender magazine had a list of the 50 Worst Acts of All Time: I don't know what they could possibly mean by this..."worst acts" meaning "live" acts? Did they base this on one show or 20? and at what point in their careers? 2...

I love early Dizzy when I want to ride,
Louis Prima when I want to loosen up,
Egberto Gismonti when I want to think straight,
Thelonious Monk when I don't,
Wes Montgomery when I'm in a groove,
Ella when I want to smile,
Antonio Carlos Jobim when I'm feeling goofy lovey

I had a greater theme and storyline in play, but the execution has come up short, apparently.

I offer no appologies, however. I'll be out of town and out of earshot until Monday, so your crass critism will be lost on me.

(how's that for setting expectations?)

How about them Kate Bushs and Jane Siberrys? Chick singers rock! (I'm soooo yesterday, I know) Oh YEAH!!! I used to LOOVE Kate Bush. And man, she was hot. What ever happened to her? As far as I could tell, she would not get on a plane, so touring was out, for the most part. She got more into produc...

Yeah, Bjork kicks everyone's ass musically. And PJ Harvey too beats all those others you listed. But I'd put Liz Phair up there with Bjork and PJ.

I just feel like it should be possible to appeal to a wider audience without making yourself sound just like the rest of what's on the radio. Isn't it? Hmmmmm, it should be possible to do this, but can you think of anyone who has made a concerted attempt for a larger audience while not mainstreamin...

SingingFish.com web audio / video search engine

Anyone use singingfish.com ? Seems pretty cool but they don't seem to bother with metadata (ID3 tags, etc.) so the results information is pretty lacking. I started seeing referers in my logs from there and went lookin'. I wonder what will happen when people start using it to find illegal copyrighted...
