Re: Better Call Saul

Anyone else watching this? I was so late to the party on Breaking Bad, I'm trying to get on board with this right away. First episode is good. It has the same tension and shock of Breaking Bad, but also it's own drama. Probably going to be a really fun ride. I too was late on Breaking Bad but absol...

Re: Family Guy

Speaking of MacFarlane, did you know his sister Rachael (the voice of Hayley on American Dad) has an album called Haley sings? They did work it into the episode when Roger made the attic into a night club, lol. Her and her bro have great old soul voices. Get out of here with your inferior American ...

Thank you for the tips and clarifications, I'll gear my submissions accordingly. Hoblit: Thanks for the offer to sing, I hope that I can get my sh*t together far enough in advance to take you up on it sometime. Your cover of 15-16 Puzzle's "Unless I Change My Mind" has been on all of my i...

Re: Jerkatorium

The rules are always open for interpretation but I think the general interpretation is that yeah, that would be cheating. The spirit of Songfight! is to be inspired by the title, write and record a song within the given deadline. All from scratch. I'm not sure if you've lurked in the forum or not, b...

It'd have to be a double album. But here are four old-skool pieces that would just have to be on it. http://www.songfight.org/music/do_it_for_captain/echolayer-doitforcaptain.mp3 http://www.songfight.org/music/red_robot/frankiebigface-redrobot.mp3 http://www.songfight.org/music/firecrackers/jbb_fire...

And isn't there the obvious point in which a 3d printer couldn't print something the same size as itself? Did someone already cover this? Does Dudley get there in time to untie the damsel before the train?

Re: What is the hardest song to ruin?

Having never seen this thread before, my first suggestion was the first response in this thread with Louie Louie.

But the next one would be I wanna Be Your Dog by The Stooges.

And I have a friend who lives in the Portland area whom I would like to catch up with. Also, I don't think would be a hard sell to my near hippie wife. (or is it hippy? You know, the Whole Foods kind...)

Re: Jan 21, 2015

I've been really struggling with this over the last few years. I fell off of Songfight!'s radar as I started working in two bands, trading off music time for music time. But then the bands ended and I'm not kidding, directly after that...I mean just a week or so afterward, I met a girl. The girl too...

Re: Jan 20, 2015

Frankie Big Face travels a lot and has visited me in Tampa on two occasions. I certainly owe him a visit and a baseball game or two. OH, and a bunch of years ago andre@midnight lived in Orlando and came out to one of my parties in Tampa once. We also traveled to Atlanta together for a Songfight! liv...

Re: That Stingy Michelin Man! (Three Stars Reviews)

Berkeley Social Scene I think this suffers a bit from not being able to practice the vocals longer before having to record by the deadline. I have the same problem. As a Songfight! entry, I can look past this. I like the structure and the dueling guitar rhythms, one in each ear. I'm kind of a sucke...

Re: Jan 16, 2015

Niveous, checking in. My wife recently asked me this interesting question: "Has Songfight ever done a music video fight?" I'm pretty sure the answer is no. So, my question is why the heck not? Because it's hard enough to write and record a song by a deadline, let alone video accompaniment...

Hoblit - My crappy laptop was having problems streaming all 15 minutes of this, taking all my reviews with it - and crashed. Punk rock! Downloaded it (how charmingy retro) and it thinks it's 12 minutes. However long it is, the first two minutes are perfect (though the chorus could have a bit more m...

Re: I agree with this 100%

Like I said, dems get their fair share. My point was, when campaign money starts pouring into progressives pushing for green energy, it will level the field opposing those that refuse to believe that mankind has any impact on climate change. Dirty energy lobbyists (right wing) vs Clean energy lobby...

Not forgetting, I just have no confidence in that option. Despite your example. ....Because there is very little evidence that there will be any stop to it and no guarantee that it will ever be undone. Our government rarely gives up any power it obtains. I guess I'm a bit more optimistic than you. ...
