you shouldn't appologize for anything you do artistically. i try to never preface anything i play for people. just let 'em listen and react, thats the best way to get good, helpful feedback. if you're already explaining yourself before they even hear the tune, then you're less likely to get an hones...

well, i drew some rhythmic influence from zappa, employing some fifth notes and seventh notes, but the overall feel of the song is much more jazzy.

that guy has got to have some sort of mental illness.

frank zappa, the breakfast, mahavisnu orchestra, o'death, neutral milk hotel, ben taylor....

for drums, i use BFD. most real sounding drums i've heard.

for standup bass, i use spectrasonics trilogy.

both have really impressed me.
