I'm interested too! I've got a couple things on my plate right now, but perhaps later this month I'll be free to give this a go. Let's keep an eye out for good titles.

Another essential way to make your guitar sound really thick when you record is to at least double track it. People like Weezer layer on many many tracks of every guitar part in their songs. If you've got one chugging rhythm guitar part, the standard way to beef it up is to play it twice on differen...

I may try to do an entry for this, thanks to the generously far off deadline. Also, reve, Nels Cline is my guitar idol of the moment. I've seen him a few times out here in the Bay Area over the last couple years, and he's amazing! Now if only I could get an Electro Harmonix 16 Second Digital Delay p...

What the old guy thinks: LOYALTY DAY: ... from playing with you guys a couple times, I recall that you put the music together first and then write the lyrics and melody on top of that, and I think this one suffers a little bit for that... umm, other lyrical issue I have is that "Motor psycho&q...

Motor Psycho, by Loyalty Day Motor psycho is a bad man He drives around, hitting pedestrians Had a hand in every bank robbery Drives the criminals to some secret safety Motor Psycho is a bad man And I'm gonna take him down Was a cold day in December On a sunny Sunday afternoon Walking, holding hands...

Loyalty Day's Laugh Riot All the things you say I've had it up to here Keep it to yourself Let me make it clear chorus: You're not a laugh riot Just a child with a voice That I would rather not hear If I had a choice I'd make you disappear And enjoy the quiet Your personal opinion Means nothing to m...

I voted for Explino! but it was a tough call. I really liked Freddielove's song but in the end I decided it was a hair less polished than Explino!'s tune, in terms of the arrangement. Anyway, good job everybody, and great debut, Freddielove. Looking forward to more good stuff from you.

feldspar too not really hearing any vocals here as far as i can tell. it's pretty repetitive and annoying. max the cat nice guitar loops. that bass sounds fake and cheesy, and the bass line is way too "oopmah, oompah". the group vocals are good. better groove in the chorus. the loop repeti...

I would love more time to write reviews and vote. I've placed some partial votes, but haven't picked a winner yet, and my Internet access at home got screwed up yesterday. It would be super awesome if there were an extension.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather have someone intelligent, mature, and eloquent representing me to the world than someone incompetent, arrogant, and unintelligible. It's embarrassing, at least to me, that Bush is who people out there think of when they think of America. He doesn't embody the good quali...

duplicate names

If you choose a name like "Butter" or "Poodle" or "Feldspar" or "Ampersand" or "Octothorpe" or "add", or some other English word or phrase that sounds cool and that somebody else might want to use for a band name-- that is a risk you take ...

available for guest appearances, whoo!!

I am not productive/inspired enough to enter fights by myself very often these days. I might have some time to do stuff for other people, though. Guitar is my strong suit, followed by bass, then singing, I think. Don't all line up at once! ;)

lunkhead covers sven mullet

Puce: Thanks for the info! I'll check out some of those distortion plugins. The tone you had for the guitars on that track was awesome. Sven, in case you're interested, here's how I covered your song: The instrumentation in the original was just right, I thought, but I couldn't re-use that style (lo...

talk about your cover

Anybody want to talk about the process they went through to make their cover for the latest CoverFight? Or ask somebody else how they made their cover? I'll start: Puce, I really like your cover of my song! I'm curious about some things. How did you get that guitar tone? Is it a normal guitar droppe...
