Wow.

8 drinks in 1 1/2 hours on an empty stomach = 1st time in 6 years that I've vomited.

Also, first time I've ever been drunk enough to forget things. Like my last post in this thread. I don't even remember sitting down at the computer.

I'm told I also called everything in sight gay. The toilet was gay, my shower curtain was gay, drinking was gay, vomiting was gay, my birthday was gay, and of course I was gay.

I woke up in my ex-girlfriend's bed, and when we left to go get my car, we couldn't find my socks or underwear. We went to Gen Roku for $1 sushi, and it was spectacular.

Best birthday ever? And tonight my other band is wanting to take me out.

I have about 2374 posts that probably should be moved to this thread

Seconded.

AND I don't even have that many posts.

Wait. I'm not drunk.

Sorry.

2 Tuaca Washington Apples
2 Tuaca Bombs
1 Oatmeal cookie (omfg it's delish, you gotta try it)
1 Shark's Blood
1 Blacktooth Grin

All for $9 (that amount includes 2 shots of scotch, one SoCo lime, and one more oatmeal cookie). Yes, that's less than $1/drink. It's great having bartender hookups.

Pretty good gig overall.

Shots of scotch?

Heathen. What was it, J&B? That isn't scotch, it's shit blended whiskey.

The Glenlivet is the only scotch that will ever pass through these lips. Your choice of 12, 15, or 18 year old SINGLE MALT SCOTCH will not be done in shots, but rather sipped on or off the rocks like a gentleman.

In fact, I think I'll have one right now. Mmmm, good stuff.

Coward. It's for you. Be a man, admit it.

I'm at work. I'm planning my purchase of whateverIcangetmyfuckinghandson.

I've had this plan for a few minutes now, so don't be surprised if I tweak it a bit.

Not that my plan involves tweaking. Just tweaking of the plan.

Suck on it.

I'll be interviewing for a marketing rep position very soon at a number of liquor companies. Dear god.

Oh shit, I got 20 minutes left to go get a bottle of Tuaca for the weekend. Damn you, bible belt!

Yeah I've had that and tried several others as well. The Glenfiddich was too sweet for my taste, and my wife who won't touch the stuff said she could tell a difference in the aroma. I'm pretty much settled on the Glenlivet now as far as scotch is concerned.

What? What are the liquor sales rules in Texas? I always thought it was ridiculous that you couldn't buy it on Sunday in Indiana. I also hate the election day rule. If I want to vote drunk, let me vote drunk.

You can always buy it the day before and save it for the day you want to be drunk.

That's why I really don't get the point to liquor sale laws since it's not like buying liquor means immediately getting drunk right afterwards. At least not for someone who isn't an alcoholic.

Most alcohol comes with very short "Use By:" or "Best Before:" dates. As little as 10 minutes in some cases. Alcohol evaprorates really quickly. You don't want to take any chances. Beacause evaproated alcohol is a greenhouse gas. Probably.

In Texas:

No retail liquor sales on Sunday, or any other day after 9pm. Then, you have to be in a 'liquor-wet' area. Pretty much anywhere north of Beltline (about 20 miles from downtown dallas) is closed to retail liquor sales. I just moved within 3 miles of the dryline a couple months ago, so it's not all that bad. But if you live in someplace like McKinney, like I used to, you're looking at a 45 minute drive to the nearest liquor store.

Beer and wine sales are until midnight, and I believe 9pm on Sundays. There are some areas that are dry to any retail alcohol sales at all, based on proximity to schools, churches, bird's nests, sunshine, etc.

Bars and restaurants have a million hoops to jump to get a license, but most bars in Texas can serve until 2am, and we still have smoking in many bars.

Brisbane now has a 3am 'lockdown'. ie. If you are drinking at a nightclub at 3am - you can stay there on the piss until 6am. But if you leave somewhere after 3am - you have to go home because nowehere else is allowed to let you in. Except the Casino, I think - that sucker never closes. Grog shops are usually open every day till about 10-ish - but for some reason, we don't have grog shops in supermarkets here up north.

This is Queensland however, the most red-necked and backward of all the states (we even have a town called Texas!). Things are usually much more civilised in NSW. South Aus. is very cool (hello Sausage Boy) - it seems like everywhere is licensed there - even the smallest corner milk-bar.

We have no 'curfew' here. Obviously, there is a time that bars and clubs and such close, but that seems to be decided by the venue. I mean, theoretically, you could sit drinking in one place for 24 hours. Obviously, you can try this in the casino (but casino bouncers are notoriously poor sports). Not a lot of different businesses are allowed to sell booze. Its just lucky we are way past saturation point. I mean, from where I am right now in the suburbs, I could drive to 8 or so bottle shops within a 10 minute radius. Then there are the various cafes, pubs and such that will happily ply you with alcohol. And we're not even that 'big' here. Imagine what its like in the city!

We just need to get drunkm and fast, to forget the steaming cesspit shit hole of a state we live in.
