R.I.P. Adam Yauch "MCA"

Post by Billy's Little Trip »

MCA left his mark with Mike D and Ad Rock. I didn't like rap, but with their old school rock, metal and rap style, I was a fan right away.
Adam Yauch, one-third of the pioneering hip-hop group the Beastie Boys, has died at the age of 47, Rolling Stone has learned. Yauch, also known as MCA, had been in treatment for cancer since 2009. The rapper was diagnosed in 2009 after discovering a tumor in his salivary gland.

Yeah, wow. Sad.

I'll never forget hearing Licensed to Ill for the first time. The soundtrack of my youth.

Rest in peace, dude.

I caught the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions this weekend and it was especially bitter sweet knowing that MCA had passed away. I wonder if he hung on just long enough to see this moment, even if he wasn't able to attend.
