RIP Maurice Sendak

Post by roymond »

I don't like these RIP posts. I've noticed that more often than not it means someone of special character and personal influence has died. And that sucks, but it's also a celebration of their life and coolness that we mourn their death.

Maurice Sendak was very cool. He wrote bizarre stories that I love, my kids love, and my wife felt were brilliant so she wasn't all like "don't read such weird shit to the kids" like some of the weird shit I'd read them. His songs are really great, too.

Saw him on The Colbert Report recently and he was outrageously funny. He will be missed.

Yes, a very interesting man. He had a twisted sense of humor that I loved.
