Songfight: The Rockening

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

Weird thing is, I didn't change those links at all. No adjustment on that page, other than adding 14 new cards. Just trying to run down why text links work on this page, but they didn't work (for some people) on the BUY page...

I can and did click a name and went to the card.

I'm not saying the links didn't work, but I tried them and was very confused at when they didn't work and when that card site didn't have search returns for anything other than the 18 random pack. I figured it was just an intricate and devious "how do you keep an idiot busy" routine that I fell for.

Why does the Less Than Three page link to Greggers, Inc.?

(Also I hope people don't get that confused with <3. Different acts entirely.)

hmmm. I hope the Less Than Three card isn't lost into the ether.

I would've gone with Less Than Three's later band name, Several Thousand Dollars in Motion, to avoid confusion but it doesn't fit cleanly on the card.

Yeah, there is no way to put more than one product on a page at TGC (Actually, there is, but it involves invoking their API, and I haven't gotten there yet. I should hire fluffy). Also, some products are "unpublished" because I haven't ordered them myself, so they don't show up in the search results.

Are you eventually going to set something up where people can order a pack of a specific card, so the bands can hand them out at gigs or such?

What, are you anti-capitalism? Just make your own cards if you want a boring deck. It's a free country. :P

Depends, BoffoYux, on how much trouble it turns out to be. How many cards are you thinking of?

One pack should probably do it - What's that - 18 cards?

Also - if you really want to have some alternative fun - I was thinking you could make a regular playing card deck with any photos in the center - So theoretically, you could shrink the card backs a smidge, and put The Rockening graphics inside the normal suit deck, to make a deck of playing cards as well as the game. But that's getting a bit too meta.

The graphics I grabbed to upload to the site were too small to do it justice, but this is proof of concept.

I don't know the story with the suited cards in Tom's post.
Standard deck is always a nice thing.
below are links to two of my favorite card games that you could super impose on cards.
Tichu is like a standard deck of 4 suits 2-10,J,Q,K,A but with 4 additional cards: Phoenix, Dragon, Dog, and Mah Jong. The suits are Stars, Swords, Gems, and Moons
Havoc has 6 suits and goes from 1 to 18 ( you always use six suits , but the highest card is determined by how many players. In Havoc the suits are just colors.

BoffoYux took the first 52 cards and assigned ranks and suits in order, trying to turn the deck into something it isn't.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Yeah, it's a joke that took a few minutes to do. Although I might do something with the SpinTunes Album covers or bands as another goof. All just theory. Your mileage may vary.
