Sorry about the delayed notification, but I didn't want to make people sad during Song Fight Live. "Monkey Business" seems like a particularly ill-suited forum title for something like this, but the notices of the passing of celebrity musicians get posted here, so:
Edgar Delos Angeles, aka Edge of LA, passed away Saturday, August 15. He'd been battling cancer since 2013.
In addition to his work as Edge of LA he created the band Moxie Prophets (he wrote the songs, sang lead, and played bass and sometimes guitar), he was a member of the band Barefoot Planet, and he performed with the Gay-Gays (an all-male Go-Gos cover band).
He was a great songwriter, a great musician, a great artist and a great friend. He was kind, and smart, and he had a brilliant sense of humor. He lived a life that anybody would envy, and he improved the lives of everyone he interacted with. He was a great guy, and I miss him.

Re: RIP Edge of LA
Very sad news. RIP Edgar. He stopped by the BSS practice space back in April 2014 to hang out. It was great reconnecting with him after we'd played a few shows with him back in the 2004-2006 timeframe. He was a really great person and musician. Best wishes to his friends and family.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I was able to hang out with Edgar a few times over the years and he was always a really nice and positive person. Such a shame.

I never met him, but I enjoyed his music. Peace, brother.
