First solo gig - Leicester, UK

Set up live gigs with each other, announce gigs you're playing around the country or whatever, talk about how the show went, post links to recordings, etc.

First solo gig - Leicester, UK

Post by NatchDan »

I know that none of you are anywhere near me, but it's worth asking a few questions. My setup will be guitar + PODxt + laptop running FL Studio. How do you think this will go down? Also, how was your first gig? Any tips?

My first gig had laptop problems. I think I slotted the soundcard in after I'd booted it up, and I kept getting these little hitches in the sound due to some sort of Windows issue. Evidently the audience didn't notice, but it was very frustrating. So, uh, tip - have the soundcard in before you boot, heh. My second gig was Songfight @ PA. That one worked fine. The singing, on the other hand... ;)

Don’t shit your pants.

Actually that can ruin just about anything.

Carry on.

Sage advice. I now see where I went wrong in those job interviews.
